The Simpson Centre’s Post

Producers are the owners of big data collected from diverse on-site and remote sources, leveraging Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). Digital agriculture is harnessing this data using innovative technologies like IoT, image processing, machine learning, wireless sensor networks and big data analytics.   The Simpson Centre’s Alberta Digitalization in Agriculture (ABDIAG) program is spearheading research and collaborations to empower producers and policymakers in Alberta's digital agriculture evolution. The main objective are to:  1) Provide opportunities for improved data literacy. 2) Inform the business model around tech investments and expected ROI. 3) Encourage the adoption of good practices in farming and improvement in efficiencies. 4) Make recommendations on policy instruments that can help improve sector competitiveness, tackle environmental challenges, and encourage data sharing. Stay connected and stay tuned for updates! #cdnag #innovation #agtech #data
