I’ve had the privilege of learning about Two-Eyed Seeing from my mentors and peers in Tech Circle, and it’s an ongoing journey for me to blend perspectives. As Elder Albert Marshall explains, "Two-Eyed Seeing is the gift of multiple perspectives—learning to see from one eye with the strengths of Indigenous ways of knowing, and from the other eye with the strengths of Western ways of knowing. It encourages us to see with both eyes for the benefit of all." Our current systems often limit how we approach the challenges we face. But what if we allowed ourselves to see things differently? What if we integrated the wisdom of Indigenous traditions—rooted in holistic understanding and connection to the land—with the strengths of western approaches? It’s not about choosing one over the other, but about combining both to create solutions that are balanced, respectful, and truly innovative. Blending these perspectives isn’t easy, but it's essential. As I continue on this path, I’m grateful for the wisdom shared with me. How many of us are fortunate enough to flirt with two generations in one career? H&M has always been my first love (and my better half Avanti agrees!). Joined many years ago as a young man full of dreams and last week, I walked out as an extremely proud and gratified professional. ⭐This amazing company has fostered my growth over the years both personally and professionally, giving me opportunities to explore multiple roles across the globe. In return, I believe, I have played my part in H&M becoming the leader in sustainability. So, let us just say, it has been a fun filled, long lasting and successful relationship😍💖😍 ⏭⏭Now, to the next generation: It was a dream come true, when a couple of years ago, H&M Group leadership asked me to support a "new idea in circularity". What started as a small project has now developed into our industry's most promising new business venture: Syre. 💥Syre is truly the next generation of H&M. For someone who has travelled from "sustainability OR business" to "sustainability & business", with Syre, I have finally found my #sweetspot. This company has removed the "ORs and &s," and we now finally have an enterprise that is simply a "sustainable business." ♻♻💲💲 💖I have now formally started flirting with my new found obsession Syre. Hopefully, it will be as successful as the last one 🤞🚀❤ 🙏Thank you H&M and all my lovely colleagues (past and present!) for your trust and support over the years.
