I couldn't agree more with the sentiment expressed in this post. During my tenure as CEO at Wessex Community Action, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of collaboration among charities. At Wessex Community Action, bringing charities together was a fundamental aspect of our mission. We often talk about the significant issues that affect the majority of people—health, education, poverty, and the environment. These are the core areas that many charities focus on, and the impact is exponentially greater when we unite our efforts. By working together, we harness a common voice, amplify our strength in numbers, and leverage our collective influence to drive meaningful change. Collaboration among charities isn’t just beneficial; it’s essential. A collective voice is far more powerful and persuasive than any single entity going it alone. When charities join forces, we share resources, knowledge, and strategies, which leads to more innovative solutions and a greater overall impact. During my time at Wessex Community Action, I saw numerous examples of how working together made a difference. From joint tendering initiatives to collaborative community programs, the results were always more impactful than isolated efforts. We are undoubtedly stronger together, and our united front can bring about the systemic changes needed to address the complex challenges we face today. I encourage all charities to seek out partnerships and collaborations. Together, we can achieve so much more than we can alone. #StrongerTogether #CharityCollaboration #CollectiveImpact
"Local authorities would be terrified of 20 or 30 local charities saying, you've got to do something about this, rather than arguing for their particular cause...One of my pleas is we look at what is driving people to all our doors, and usually it's common things." We often think to optimize our money, but are we optimizing our experiences (with the thought of mortality/health as a constraint)? People spend less as they get older, not more! What has you waiting to give inheritance to loved ones or charities, at a time where more utility could be obtained NOW? See the link below in the comments for the discussion.
