Another day, another discussion with an organisation trying to embark on a ERP upgrade project without a successful methodology in place. Add to that, the inability to recruit the right skillsets...all I tend to see is a project destined to either end up in the local paper, or in front of an audit committee. brb...need a coffee... #transformation #erp #businessreadiness #strategicdirections

[ERP Advisory] As the world becomes more fast-paced, risks continue to evolve, and the demand for resilience grows. ERP landscapes must keep up with emerging risks. The need for support is real. Many organizations find that after implementing the software, the system technically functions but fails to generate the desired data and insights. "Or they continue to cling to their old ways of working, resulting in the new system underperforming," says ERP Project Manager Lies Van der Goten. By enlisting the ERP team at TriFinance as an intermediary, companies can effectively overcome obstacles. Lies Van der Goten elaborates, "A system integrator may struggle to grasp an organization's needs, while employees may not understand the technical partner's direction. We bridge this gap by ensuring requirements are accurately translated." Effective conflict resolution leads to successful ERP implementations! Conflicts are rarely desirable, but not always negative! Why is this the case? Implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system can be a complex and challenging process, often involving multiple stakeholders with competing interests and priorities. In such an environment, conflict is inevitable. However, effective conflict resolution can be a crucial factor in the success of an ERP project. Conflicts can also have positive aspects, as they lead to existing assumptions and approaches being questioned. This critical debate often reveals new perspectives and solutions that were previously undiscovered. Conflicts therefore offer the opportunity to discover innovative ideas and potential that can contribute to the further development and improvement of processes, products, or relationships. If conflicts are addressed and resolved constructively, this can lead to improved communication and cooperation within the team. This promotes a more positive and productive working environment in which team members feel heard and their concerns are taken into consideration. This in turn can lead to better decision-making processes and a more cohesive project team. In summary, the benefits of effective conflict resolution in ERP projects are clear. By fostering open communication, reducing delays and costs, improving change management, and increasing stakeholder satisfaction, organizations can increase the chances of a successful ERP implementation and reap the full benefits of their investment. #EverwareConsulting #everware #erp #Konfliktmanagement #conflictmanagement

Do you truly know your business? Recently, I connected with a Finance Transformation Consultant facing a challenging task: rescuing a failed ERP implementation. As they combed through the business requirement documents—signed off by a predecessor—the lack of detail was alarming. It became evident that either the initial stakeholders had not been involved enough or the details had been severely overlooked and the input from the SI was subpar. This underscores the necessity of dedication during an ERP implementation. As a CFO or FD, you're already balancing numerous responsibilities 🏋️. Can you honestly allocate the necessary time and resources to see an ERP project through successfully? Partnering with an experienced consultant or project manager can help circumvent these pitfalls while ensuring you remain an engaged stakeholder. Get in touch if you want more details about how these specialists drive your ERP projects to success. ✅ #Finance #ERP #BusinessTransformation

Hi ERP Community, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) implementations are complex undertakings that can present numerous challenges, especially during the critical go-live phase. The idea of implementing a new ERP is beautiful and involves alot of resources. ERP projects have lots challenges at every stage and most importantly at the testing and go-live phases because this is often rushed or done poorly. This has an adverse effect on the quality of solution deployed. Some of these challenges are: 1. Poor communication amongst key stakeholders. 2. Heavy workloads on the shoulders of business key (super) users. 3. Lack of alignment between 3rd party implementation partners and the business team. 4. Unrealistic project timeliness 5. Poor planning and execution of testing, Integration, post go-live support, and data migration. 6. Change management issues 7. Poor project entry and exit strategies and cut-over activities. I believe by carefully addressing these challenges and implementing effective mitigation and early risk assessment strategies, organizations can successfully navigate the complexities of ERP go-live and realize the full benefits of their investment. 😀 Don't take off until you are sure you will land. #erpprojects #golive #erpcommunity

Should you incentivize your #ERP systems integrator? In my latest article, I make the case for rewarding performance. I know it's unpopular because most don't do it. The argument is probably controversial - so take a read and then take me on in the comments. When planning for ERP innovation in 2025, companies must assess both the financial and operational impacts of decommissioning their legacy system and implementing a new ERP. Careful evaluation of costs and timelines will ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruptions. 1-Decommissioning involves several critical steps: - Data Migration/Archiving: ($50K-$150K, 3-6 months) : Safely transferring or archiving historical data is essential for future compliance and business continuity. -System Shutdown: ($10K-$50K, 1-3 months) – This includes terminating licenses, vendor contracts, and managing exit fees. -Employee Retraining: ($20K-$80K, 2-4 months) – Staff must be retrained to adapt to new workflows or interim solutions during the system transition. 2-Implementation of a new ERP can be more complex: -Software Licensing: ($200K-$1M+, 3-6 months) – The cost of the new system depends on the vendor and features selected. -Customization & Integration: ($100K-$500K, 6-12 months) – Tailoring the ERP to specific business needs and integrating it with existing systems is often the most resource-intensive phase. -Consulting & Implementation Fees: ($100K-$1M, 6-18 months) – Expert support is necessary for configuration, testing, and full deployment. In sum, with a total estimated timeline of 12-18 months, strategic planning across both decommissioning and implementation is vital to ensure a cost-efficient and seamless transition to the new ERP system. #ERP #Implementation #decomissioning #stragey #costs
