The reason nearly everybody gets B Corp is not because it actually improves their business processes: it is because it's a good marketing tool. My biggest issue isn't necessarily with B Corp per se, it is with anything that purports to tell people a black and white message: if you have this stamp, you're a good company. The truth is, we're not good. Nobody's good. Mike Penrose B-Corp didn’t exist when I started my agency. We began the process right before COVID and then tabled it. It’s not really well suited for small business. The demands are engineered for much larger companies. It’s rather onerous for a team of 4.
