Charities are playing a crucial role in supporting the Singapore Green Plan 2030 for Environmental, Social and Government (ESG) compliance. From promoting sustainable practices to fostering social responsibility, these organisations are making a significant impact. At our recent seminar on “ESG for charities – Sustainable Practices”, our Not-for-Profit Practice engaged with charities and Institutes of Public Character (IPCs) on prevalent ESG topics, exploring sustainable practices and the importance of adopting these measures in the face of climate change. Sovann Giang, Deputy Industry Lead of our Not-for-Profit Practice, led the discussions as he reviewed past measures as well as the ESG landscape in Singapore. In addition, he focused on action plans that offered attendees specific and measurable guidelines to calculate their Business Environmental Impact. As the importance of good ESG practices continue to grow, RSM is able to provide advice for charities and IPCs to ensure that their practices are sustainable and leave a lasting impact for the future generation. 🚀 Big news from PepsiCo! In 2023, they hit some goals ahead of schedule, introduced new targets, and made strong strides on others, although certain goals, like packaging, still present challenges. Here's a look at their impressive achievements through innovation, strategic investments, groundbreaking partnerships, and the hard work of their 318,000 global associates: 🌍 **Sustainability Wins:** - **Emissions Reduction:** Cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 13% and total Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 5% year over year. - **Virgin Plastic Reduction:** Reduced virgin plastic derived from non-renewable sources by 4% year over year. - **Regenerative Farming:** Doubled their global regenerative farming footprint to over 1.8 million acres. - **Water-Use Efficiency:** Achieved a 25% improvement in water-use efficiency at high water-risk company-owned locations compared to a 2015 baseline, hitting this goal two years ahead of schedule. - **Access to Safe Water:** Helped more than 10 million people gain access to safe water, bringing the total to over 91 million since 2006. 🥗 **New Health Goals:** - **Sodium Reduction & Diverse Ingredients:** Introduced new goals to reduce sodium and deliver diverse ingredients. 36% of their food volume met these new sodium targets, and they delivered 75 billion portions of diverse ingredients. "Three years into our pep+ journey, it's clear the focus we have driven throughout the business is working in many areas," said Jim Andrew, Chief Sustainability Officer at PepsiCo. "Our use of virgin plastics is down year-over-year, and our total Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions are down compared to 2022, as well as versus our 2015 baseline. This is all to be celebrated. However, the road ahead will continue to present challenges." Jim Andrew emphasizes building strong strategic partnerships and scaling breakthrough technologies to deliver meaningful impact and ensure focused efforts. For a detailed overview of PepsiCo's 2023 pep+ results, you can check out their digital summary and associated downloadable assets in their complete ESG Reporting Suite. 👏 Kudos to PepsiCo for these significant strides towards a sustainable future! 🌿 #Sustainability #PepsiCo #pep+ #EnvironmentalImpact Report Downloads (pepsico.com)

It’s amazing what happens when you get a cross-functional group of leaders together with a common passion and goal. Two years ago, Craig Storey sparked a conversation about how we want to do the right thing for our people, our planet, and our communities. The spark ignited as we pulled together our ESG committee. From those early conversations to today, I am so proud of the progress our committee has been able to make. I’m grateful to be part of this effort to drive change in partnership with Tim Cummings, Sheena Turner, Danielle Meyer, DSS, BSP, Kate Grieshaber, Hannah Schiele, and Jocelyn Brock. We just released our second #ESG report. We've taken significant steps, and while we're early in our journey, the impact speaks volumes. 🌿 In 2023, we took steps to remove paper instruction sheets from many of our products, reducing waste and environmental impact. 🌿 We've made strides in reshoring production, with 8% of our items now produced domestically, aligning with our commitment to local communities and sustainable practices. 🌿 Through partnerships and donations, we've contributed over $8 million in product to non-profit organizations, supporting worthy causes and reducing waste. 🌿 Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is reflected in our company-wide training initiatives, fostering a more inclusive and equitable workplace. This is just the beginning. As we continue on our journey, I'm excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and the positive impact we can make together. https://lnkd.in/gZNGpHiF #Sustainability #CorporateResponsibility #CSR

Every year, I dread having to sit down to write our impact report (cue dissertation flashbacks). As a B Corp, we've commited to writing one though so I have to suck it up. Thankfully, like many things that are a difficult, time-consuming and require deeper thinking, it is unbelievably rewarding. When we're going a million miles per hour, we don't often stop to look back at what we've been able to do beyond the financial numbers. So here are some non-financial things that we're very proud of in our 2023 impact report (find it in the Seep link below) ✨Launching our new bamboo microfibre alternative cloth 🎢 Hitting 3.5m in plastic cleaning tools saved from landfill (only 996.5m left to go by 2030 😅) 📦Gaining FSC accreditation across our packaging and some of our products (more to come) 🌲Continuing to support ON A MISSION's super high quality reforestation projects, planting over 12,000 trees to date in projects that are great for biodiversity & supporting local livelihoods 🫂Donating products to charities like The Hygiene Bank 👯♂️Offering options to our team and more flexible working and holiday A huge thanks to the full Seep family for this (Jean Shaw Smith, Kirstie de Vere, Silvia Sigrist, Joana S.). It's genuinely a full team effort to make sure that we stay laser focussed on our mission 💗💗💗 #betterbusiness #bcorp #impact #sustainabilityreporting
