Day 67 - Twice in the last 24 hours, I experienced a sudden wave of panic about my readiness to leave America, which is laughable—and I did laugh—considering I own almost nothing and have almost nothing left to do to prepare, besides packing my two suitcases with my remaining books, a few items of clothing, grab the dog, and go. I still need to sell Yumiko’s car and ensure Rudy and I get to the airport on time for our flight together on ANA flight 105—him as live cargo, and me as, well, live cargo. I think I have that figured out. The handoff to the shipper is at 5:30 PM for a flight departing around 1:00 AM. That’s plenty of time for me to return a rental car and grab a shuttle to the international terminal at LAX to catch the flight. Also, I don’t need to worry much if there’s an issue with Rudy boarding the plane (which sometimes happens with live cargo). The pet shipper can board Rudy overnight in nearby El Segundo and try again on the next night’s ANA 105 flight (which departs nightly). So, no need to panic, right? Though worry is my way, and it’s a good way to reduce the risk of missing a step when doing important things that need to be done right. #GoingAlone
