Power and Energy Research - The University of Manchester reposted this
Robin and I were out today representing the Department of EEE from The University of Manchester at a very busy and brilliantly organised outreach event called #RochdaleScienceExtravaganza. The event was hosted in the beautiful Rochdale Town Hall (which is absolutely worth a visit). We were out teaching young people about electricity, energy and electrical machines with our 120kV Marx Generator, 3500rpm Flywheel for energy storage and the 'Build Your Own (homopolar) Motor' workshop. Our MEng team were also at the event trialling their Future Power System Game, they are building it to help the public understand the challenges of transitioning to net zero. It's always great to see so many budding engineers from such diverse backgrounds ⚡ #outreach #Engineering #STEM
Great to see and agree is definitely worth a trip to see the new town hall!
