𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙒𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣! At The Vascular Care Group, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. Our recent all-staff meeting was fun, informative, and a heartwarming reminder of these values. We were delighted to receive warm blankets from Beantown Blankets, a gesture that not only brought warmth to our team but also to those in need. For every blanket received by our staff, another was donated to a local charity in the states we serve. This means that our comfort directly translates to comfort for someone else in our community. It's a cycle of giving that we are proud to be a part of. This year we were proud to donate blankets to Open Doors Smilow Life Center in Norwalk, CT, Preble Street Resource Center in Portland, ME, and Friendly House in Worcester, MA. Being part of a team that values compassion and community support is truly inspiring. We are committed to providing world-class vascular care in a comfortable, convenient, and comprehensive outpatient setting but we also strive to extend that care far beyond our clinic walls. Thank you to Beantown Blankets and our community partners. Together, we are spreading warmth, love, and compassion one blanket at a time. Yesterday I came across a thought-provoking article that highlighted the importance of discussing organ donation with family. It's really incredible how being a donor can not only save multiple lives but also improve the quality of life for many, many people through donations like corneas, skin, and tissues. Being an organ donor not only saves lives but it also helps people to see, heal, feel more confident and be more mobile, as I've personally experienced as a knee tendon recipient. I'm immensely grateful to the person that made the decision to donate after their death. As a donor tendon recipient I'll be walking my son to school and kicking a ball about with him very soon which truly means the world to me. The relatively new UK Donation Law of 'Opt-Out' was designed to increase donors; however, it's facing a serious hurdle. The lack of discussion about individual donation wishes is leading to uncertainty and refusals to donate during critical moments. It's crucial to have a conversation with loved ones to ensure your desires are known, removing doubt in the most difficult of times. It's the decision of your loved ones that will ultimately determine whether you become a donor. Check out this article on the BBC for more insights on this important topic. Let's encourage open conversations and make a difference in the lives of others through the gift of donation. #OrganDonation #BloodDonation #Healthcare #FamilyConversations #DonateLife

“A cough assist device is life-changing for those with MND who struggle with secretions. Imagine having secretions and not being able to clear them. A constant feeling of choking,” -- Stephanie van Hilten, respiratory physiotherapist. Many people living with MND experiences changes to their breathing during the course of their disease, leaving them at risk of life-threatening lung infections. A cough assist device can be a vital part of their treatment regime, but unfortunately, these life-changing devices are not readily available to people living with MND. Your donation to our 2024 Winter Appeal can change this - our goal is to make these devices available to those who need them, but we simply can't do it without your support. You can give people facing MND a Breath of Hope at https://lnkd.in/g2wEZw3a Every donation $2 and over is tax deductible. #MND #ALS #winter #winterappeal #cough #charitysupport #MNDNSW #donatenow

Charity funding helps teams at Sheffield Children’s to provide the best possible care for children and their families!💙 Recently we provided vein finders, for Embrace, the transport service for Sheffield Children’s. The transport team provide care for newborns to teenagers and need specialist equipment to cater to all their different patient needs. Vein finders are a useful device for inserting cannulas, especially for newborns and infants. Cannulas are small tubes that go into your veins for medical reasons. The Embrace team will use these devices to improve the cannulation rates of babies that need to be transported. This process can be quite uncomfortable for patients so being able to get a cannula into a baby quickly will help to make the process easier for both them and their families. The vein finders will also help the team to detect complications, such as a collapsed lung, more quickly. This will help the team to provide the best treatment and manage these complications more quickly. To support projects like this visit our website at tchc.org.uk/donate

🌟Help Save the Sight of Underprivileged Babies in Rural Vietnam!🌟 Imagine being a parent in rural Vietnam, unable to afford the costly and lengthy journey to urban centers where specialized medical care is available. Many families face this reality, leaving their premature infants at risk of blindness due to Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), a condition that can be prevented with early detection and treatment. Your donations will enable us to purchase two essential digital retinal cameras, allowing us to screen and treat these vulnerable infants right where they live. By specifying “ROP CAMERA DONATION,” you ensure your support goes directly to this life-saving cause. Together, we can give these tiny fighters a brighter, clearer future. Your generosity can make a real difference. 💖 Donate now and be the light in their darkness. https://lnkd.in/gHDVaaZP #SaveVision #UnderprivilegedBabies #RuralVietnam #Charity #DonateNow #ROPproject #GiveSight

Supporting lifesaving care in #Newport 💙 Persimmon East Wales has donated £1,000 to St David's Hospice Care, helping fund a new vein scanner for their in-patient unit. This donation, made through our Community Champions initiative, will support the hospice's incredible work providing palliative care to patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses. Their dedicated team delivers expert pain management and compassionate support, both at home and in their purpose-built hospice, free of charge. We presented the cheque alongside Newport City Councillor Jane Mudd FCIH, who represents the #Malpas ward where the hospice is based. From its humble beginnings caring for six patients in its first year, St David’s Hospice Care now supports over 3,400 people annually across South East Wales, making a profound difference in local communities. #PersimmonHomes
