#Brescia, one of the oldest cities in Europe, is steeped in both legend and history. According to one of its most famous legends, the city was founded by #Hercules himself. After one of his legendary labors, Hercules is said to have arrived in the area where modern Brescia stands today, establishing a city as a symbol of strength and endurance. Another myth ties Brescia’s origins to Troe, a Trojan exile who, fleeing the burning ruins of Troy, founded Altilia, "the other Ilio," in the same location. Beyond these captivating myths, Brescia’s history is firmly rooted in archaeological evidence. The first known settlements date back to around 1200 BCE on the #Cidneo Hill, which remains the historic heart of the city. By the 5th and 4th centuries BCE, Brescia had become the capital of the Cenomani #Gauls, as recorded by the Roman historian Livy. The #Romans later solidified the city’s prominence, establishing a colony named #Brixia in 187 BCE. Brescia’s strategic location made it a crucial hub in controlling the Po Valley and the Alpine routes, and its Roman past is still visible today in the preserved remains of the Capitolium, the Roman Theatre, and the ancient Forum, part of a #UNESCO World Heritage site. Fast-forward to the present, Brescia’s legacy of strength and #innovation lives on, not only in its historical monuments but also in its #industrial prowess. Today, the city is a global leader in the production of high-performance #machinetools and advanced industrial #automation. It stands at the forefront of Industry 4.0, integrating cutting-edge technologies like #artificialintelligence to enhance automation and #robotics. Just as Hercules embodied strength and ingenuity, modern Brescia reflects these qualities through its powerful industrial sector, linking its legendary and historical past to a future of #technological innovation. The philosophy of Kintsugi invites us to see imperfections not as flaws to be hidden from view, but as precious parts of our personal history. Today, perfection seems to be the only goal to achieve, while Kintsugi reminds us that cracks and scars tell a story of resilience and adaptation. This ancient Japanese art not only repairs broken objects, it makes them unique, transforming fractures into golden lines to celebrate their re-birth. It is an invitation to value every experience, positive or negative, and to see beauty in transformation. At Hi-Lex Italy, we adopt this philosophy in our daily work. We believe that every challenge and difficulty is an opportunity to grow and improve. Every product we create is the result of a careful process, where even unforeseen events are welcomed as moments of growth. For us, Kintsugi is more than just an art: it is a way of thinking and working that drives us to look beyond appearances and to find value in every single aspect of our work. Art is wonderful, and if you would like to see a wonderful example of Kintsugi art, why not visit the stunning exhibition of Japanese porcelain held at the E. Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art in Genoa. #HiLexItaly #JapanCulture #Kintsugi
