What do Future Leaders of Schools of Public Service (#FLSPS) talk about over breakfast? #Leadership. Bridge building. Stewarding relationships. As one of the three coleads of this program from Humphrey School of Public Affairs, with Carissa Schively Slotterback and Matthew Auer, I had the privilege of starting my Friday morning at #ARNOVA 2024 with this amazing group of leaders—participants from the first three cohorts of the Future Leaders of Schools of Public Service program. This program, sponsored by the The Volcker Alliance through the Deans Summit of Public Affairs Deans, is dedicated to fostering more racially and ethnically diverse leadership in schools of public service. As we kick off the season of #thanksgiving, I am deeply grateful for the skills, experiences, and commitment these leaders bring to public service and leadership. I’m inspired by their dedication to equipping themselves for the opportunities and challenges of leadership ahead. A heartfelt thank you to our mentor deans who joined us, Jodi Sandfort from the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance, University of Washington and Thomas Vicino from the Georgia State University - Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, for sharing your wisdom and insights, and to all the FLSPS fellows for the enriching conversations. #Leadership #FutureLeaders #PublicService #ARNOVA2024
