Today, at The Wilf Ward Family Trust, we are celebrating International Men’s Day by raising awareness of men’s health, mental wellbeing, and the importance of positive role models. This day gives us a chance to recognize the amazing contributions men make to their families, workplaces, and communities. At The Wilf Ward Family Trust, we care about the health of all our employees and the individuals we support, and today, we want to shine a light on some key aspects of men’s health that often go overlooked. 📊 Did you know? - Men, on average, live six years less than women. - One in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. - Three out of four suicides are men. It’s time to start conversations about men’s health and break the stigma around seeking help. This International Men’s Day, we encourage everyone to take action: whether it’s booking a health check, talking about mental health, or simply supporting the men in your life. Let’s celebrate the men around us by promoting health, wellbeing, and positive change! 💪 #InternationalMensDay #MensHealthMatters #WellbeingAtWork #SupportAndCare #TheWilfWardFamilyTrust #Movember

🌟 #June is Men's Health Month 🌟 Every human faces their own set of struggles, whether they are men or women. Often, we don't realize the battles someone is fighting until they reveal it or something tragic happens. Men's Health Month is a crucial reminder to acknowledge and address the unique health challenges that men face. This month aims to raise #awareness about the importance of regular health check-ups, #mental health support, and healthy lifestyle choices. Men are often expected to be strong and resilient, which can lead to neglecting their health and well-being. It's important to remember that asking for help and taking care of oneself is not a sign of weakness but a step towards a healthier and more fulfilling life. Let's use this month to: - #Encourage open and honest conversations about health and well-being. - Promote regular medical check-ups and early detection of health issues. - Break the stigma surrounding mental health and support those who are struggling. - Foster a community where everyone feels comfortable seeking help and discussing their health concerns. Mens Health Week 2024 Men's Health Week focuses on not just physical health, but also men's mental health and emotional wellbeing. During the week, we highlight the health challenges faced by men in Australia and worldwide and run events that can be replicated year-round to improve the physical, emotional and mental health of men. Through a series of promotions, events and publicity around the country, Men's Health Week is designed to provoke thought and discussion about what needs to be done to improve male health. I also want to acknowledge my Aboriginal brothers out there, it’s important to acknowledge our challenges and celebrate our strength and resilience. Why It Matters: *Aboriginal men often face higher rates of health issues. *Cultural connection and community support are crucial for mental and physical health. *Access to culturally appropriate healthcare is essential. How We Can Help: *Encourage regular health check-ups and active lifestyles. *Promote mental health awareness and support. *Share stories of strength, tradition, and community. #menshealthweek #aboriginalhealth #menshealth
