These tools provide comprehensive support, including guidance on bail considerations for Aboriginal accused, a track-changed version of the legislation, and detailed assistance for cases involving Aboriginal individuals seeking bail. 🚨 Call for solidarity for Bill C-273 by MP Peter Julian to #EndCorporalPunishment—which is still legal in (so-called) Canada Section 43 of the Criminal Code, which permits physical punishment of children in Canada was identified by Truth and Reconciliation Commission as its sixth call to action. We know that corporal punishment is one of the multiple ways that policing/carcerality/punitive measures operates within schooling and educational spaces. The Bill is currently in the House of Commons for the third reading and moving to vote prior to moving to the Senate. 📣Write to your MP to support the repeal of section 43 of the criminal code and answer call-to-action 6 by the Truth & Reconciliation Commission LINK: bit.ly/Repeal43

Today marks the European Day of Justice. On June 5, 2003, the Council of Europe and the European Commission established the European Civil Justice Day to bring citizens closer to the work carried out in courts, under the purview of the European Commission for the efficiency of justice (CEPEJ), a body of the Council of Europe.
