We joined Helen Morgan MP, pupils from a local primary school and partners to help bury a time capsule at our new £19.1m housing and health hub. The time capsule included a mobile phone, recipes provided by Belton Cheese and other items showcasing life in Shropshire in 2024. The Pauls Moss Housing and Health hub is collaboration between Wrekin, Shropshire Council, NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and local GPs. Construction is being delivered by Vistry Group and is set to be completed later this year.

Waverley War Memorial Hospital: Future Expansion Focusses on Modernisation and Community Care Uniting has submitted a scoping report with the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for a residential aged care facility and seniors living units on its prime Waverley landholding. Whilst the current plans allow for expansion of hospital services, including 105 - 114 new aged care beds and 210 - 230 seniors living units, this will take place in conjunction with NSW Health and with respect to the site's heritage value. The expansion plans have been informed by many years of negotiation with Waverley Council to establish a planning framework that is capable of supporting Uniting's plans for the hospital. This has included two rezoning proposals to effectively improve the site's height limit and FSR, as well as allow 'seniors housing' as an additional permitted use, which is a prohibited use under the site's current SP2 Infrastructure zoning. Friday Fun - Part I Phil from New Horizon did a good compare and contrast post on NHS and Young Homelessness yesterday. My comment is below . I’ll share the extract from the latest NHS accounts on the value of its buildings land plant & machinery which is illuminating. At any one time 14% of patients in NHS hospitals could be discharged but have no suitable Accomodation to go to. Is there a way to tackle bed blocking through Geoff from Saxonking ‘s 80: 20 rule of value engineering ( 80 % of benefit for 20 % of cost) the NHS ‘s nationwide “ reach” and improved use of its massive land and buildings bank or portfolio? I’d be interested to know what solutions Lewis & Dan from Allia; George from Go Modular ; Craig from Agile all from the rapidly growing modular construction sector as well as Geoff from Saxon King & Phil from New Horizon could come up with in conjunction with the Powers that be at the NHS. The NHS is UK ‘s jewel in our Crown : young people are our future & those “on the mend” deserve better. https://lnkd.in/em4CyhD9

Barwood Capital and Perseus Land & Developments Limited have successfully sold a 70-bed care home scheme in West Malling, Kent, to a joint venture between property development company Barcroft Estates and a global investment company for an undisclosed sum. The scheme has been pre-let to a not-for-profit care provider which supports older people through registered nursing and dementia care homes. The facility is intended to offer residential care and dementia-specific care. The site is targeting a BREEAM Very Good rating, Net Zero in operation enabled and an EPC A rating. The news comes as Knight Frank’s 2024 Healthcare Report suggests that healthcare beds grew by only 519 beds this year with a recorded 3% growth in care beds over the past decade. If the cost-to-build alone is $430k per place what is the total cost for a greenfields site? Land, development approval, consultants, interest costs, equipment, trading-up losses. It would be at least $550k. $9.5M expansion of aged care home south of Cairns puts cost of bed at $430,000-plus

Our union members are hard at work on the Cowichan District Hospital Replacement Project, helping to build a new healthcare facility that will be 3x the size of the current hospital — a major step forward for the community! This isn’t just about construction; it’s about creating real opportunities for the community. Thanks to the Community Benefits Agreement, this project is ensuring that local workers come first, while prioritizing women, Indigenous peoples, and other equity-seeking groups in the workforce. Our members are building more than just walls; they’re building a stronger, more inclusive future for everyone. BC Infrastructure Benefits Inc. Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority

See this week 🤩, this week- did I spin a lot of plates or did I spin a lot of plates? …kids/family, managing my HMOs, viewings, contractors, social housing opportunities, education, keeping fit and the list goes on… I’ve spent hours on the phone, talking, understanding my supported living provider clients needs, looking at: - How my property connection service could make a huge difference to your business - How it helps you to expand your services - How we help you to support more clients and make more of a social impact - How in turn you make a huge difference to someone’s life and lifestyle. And I’m even more excited about the service we provide, which helps you to grow with no effort. I delayed my passion for a while through fear but no more, my mission is to help and serve the vulnerable through helping care providers access property. So if you want to expand your services in Hertfordshire and North - North west London then we should have a chat. If you are a landlord with HMos or small blocks of 1 beds in these areas then I’d love to hear from you. #careandsupport #supportedliving#propertydeveloper#passivepropertyinvesting#careprovider#ensuite#HMO#
