Last year I helped a couple of hard working civil servants to #workwellanywhere. This was at Futurebuild - which is on again this week - where Pegg Furniture brought some classy furnishings to the stand of Natural Building Systems. A moment arrived when all the assembled Pegg Desks were taken! And these two were forced to use their laptops on their actual laps! Pegs to the rescue. I had a packed way version of Pegg Desk kept aside for demonstrations, and in a few minutes it was assembled... Two pleasantly surprised public servants with a more healthy workspace. It was a fun interlude in a serious trade show: - "the UK’s built environment is responsible for 25% of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions" (UKGov) - FutureBuild is one of the UK's main events aimed at shifting course to a more sustainable way to inhabit. I'll be attending again to hear updates on zero carbon and adaptation design from some leading architects, builders and policy makers. And my good friend Christoph Kurzmann is helping to furnish the Natural Building Systems stand this year with some of his circular-economy designs: student beds that were headed for landfill, redesigned to make stylish stools.
