Powers of Justice of Peace : Section 22 (A) Crpc 1) All the powers of Police officer as per Section 54 and 55 2) For Making an arrest he shall furnish a report as to cirsumstances of his arrest to officer incharge of nearest police station 3) Can call upon any police officer in his local area to aid him : 1) Preventing the escape of a person against whom : A) A complaint has been made B) Participation in cognizable offence C)Reasonable complaint D) Credible information E) Reasonable suspicion exists in such participation 2) Prevention of crime, general or particular 3) Prevention of breach of peace 4) Disturbance of the public tranquility 5) He may ( as per rules made by provincial government) : 1) Issue a Certificate as to identity of any person 2) Verify documents 3) Attest any document to be attested by the magistrate

Nice Article! I beleive ,Victim compensation for data breaches in India could include financial restitution for losses incurred due to identity theft or fraud, free credit monitoring services, reimbursement for expenses related to resolving the breach, and possibly punitive damages for negligence on the part of the organization responsible for the breach.

In Abhishek Banerjee & Anr. v. Directorate of Enforcement, the Supreme Court of India clarified the broad powers of the ED under s. 50 of the PMLA, distinguishing them from those under the CrPC. Dangerous Initiative by SC. Let us recall two cases when SC took over enquiries in similar manners and never awarded justice. 1. Enquiry on Congress Punjab Government for committing security lapses during the visit of Indian PM. When can citizen of India will be able to see the outcome 2. Report of Committee formed by SC on Kissan aandolan has never seen light of the day. Citizens wants to know the outcome Now when WB high court has given the case to CBI , SC is now coming into picture why? To provide relief to Mamta? To restart the case from scratches? Why… This is very dangerous situation and such acts of SC is under suspicion and judiciary is working off the track which is unacceptable. CJI must take initiative to direct the concerned people to share Report 1&2 above and be extremely sensitive and provide the fast tracking and not the backtracking in WB murder cases.
