The Air Current reposted this
Deep reporting from The Air Current on Embraer's next new airplane. I sat down with CEO Francisco Gomes Neto recently for a wide ranging interview. The Brazilian plane maker is deep into its 'harvest' and ramping up production of its existing aircraft, but it's looking over the horizon at a wide ranging partnership in the Kingdom and even the prospect of Saudi funds unlocking its next big project. This is a big one to watch. #staycurrent
Excellent article as usual Jon! It is always interesting to see how everybody wants to have a piece of this global/economic pie. Hopefully, they choose a very innovative aircraft configuration to really differentiate Embraer from the rest of OEMs while moving aviation to the future.

2wExcellent coverage of the topic! Whether it's AAM or conventional development, the costs are so high now, and growing daily, that 'endlessly deep pockets' have become a necessity for development of traditional aircraft, and, any AAM-type which aspires to certification. However, what if it were NOT a traditional aircraft and what size would the market be, at say $5-10MM a copy for an uncertified, yet highly capable, aircraft for the ROW (rest of world) that cares more about reliable vertol transportation than regulations? Would that market buy a couple hundred units a year? Asking for a friend. Magnecopter.com
