I am Aditi Kesarwani, a third year bba student at Symbiosis Centre For Management Studies- Noida As I am just one step away from graduating, placement season is in the air now and I feel networking is the key for it. Networking is a critical skill for business administration students like me, because it offers numerous benefits that can significantly impact our careers in the corporate world. Here are some key reasons why networking is important: 🔺Career Opportunities- Networking often leads to job opportunities that are not advertised. Connections can provide referrals or inform you of openings in their companies. Strategy that got me 3 Job offers after the offer from IIM got revoked!! [1] Don't panic The biggest mistake people make is they start panicking Relax and understand it's just a phase and this will go soon [2] Update resume Now updated your resume well Quality your achievements and use keywords relevant to your profile. Always make 2 CVs. One is a master CV and the other one is a specific one for specific roles. [3] Upskill Start doing courses and certification on the profile you are targeting Even do an internship if you can [4] Start applying Now start applying on LinkedIn, Naukri and other platforms. You can even put a LinkedIn post on the job search. [5] Network Call every person in your network if they can help you. Your friends, colleagues, and alumni to ask for help for Keep track of all leads in an Excel sheet [6] Follow a schedule Make a schedule like 2 hours upskill, 4 hour job search. Whatever suits you [7] Give an interview even if CTC is low and have patience Never deny any offer in that state. Give an interview, take the offer and use this for other interviews.
