We have 7 basic rights that should be ours from birth. As human beings, we are also energetic beings and these rights are affected by what goes on around us, as well as within. These basics rights are the right to: >> have >> feel >> act >> love and be loved >> speak and hear truth >> see >> know If any of these right are threatened, any place in the world, it affects all of us, no matter where we are. That’s why we are never separate from what’s going on anywhere in the world. That’s why our inner liberation is connected to our outer liberation and freedom. Today, we honor the stories that were silenced for too long. Generations of Indigenous children were taken, their voices muted, their futures stolen. This is not just a reflection of the past—it is a reckoning for all of us. Every single child, every precious life, mattered then, and they matter now. We must confront this dark history head-on, for there is no healing without truth. We must carry these stories with us to move forward, refusing to let them be forgotten. This day is more than remembrance—it is a call to action, 94 calls to action, to be exact. A call to honor those who were lost by committing to a future where every child, every culture, and every voice is respected and protected. We must rise together, with open hearts and minds, to build a nation where reconciliation is not just a word, but a way of life. Truth opens the door to reconciliation. Let’s walk through it, hand in hand. 🕊️ 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟎𝐭𝐡 - 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Countries that were primarily forged by imperialism, colonialism and genocide, rely on the creation of myths as a mean to gaslight its own people into believing that they are good. Empires will romanticize the narratives of militarism to hide the real history of genocide, slavery, and ethnic cleansing. They will use religion to create a spiritual narrative that justifies the atrocities and crimes against humanity that are constantly perpetuated as the means through which wealth is extracted and transferred to their metropolis. In Western society, most of our holidays are exactly that. Imagine how these myths would crumble if we taught our real history. #teachourrealhistory

On October 23, 2024, I had the privilege of presenting at The 6th International Conference and Consolidation on Indigenous Religion, hosted by ICIR; Rumah Bersama, featuring both national and international speakers. The conference shared insightful ideas on *Performing Democracy*. My presentation, titled *Inclusivity Practices in the Tanimbar Kei Community During and After the 1999 Conflict*, highlighted the pluralistic life of the Tanimbar Kei community and their foundational values of inclusivity and acceptance, essential pillars of democracy. Utilizing Ashutosh Varshney's Civic Engagement approach, this article aims to enrich our understanding of democratic practices and the essence of peace across local, national, and global contexts.
