A recent court decision in Florida challenges the constitutionality of the #FalseClaimsAct’s #quitam provision, which allows #whistleblowers to file lawsuits on behalf of the government. This could have major implications for how whistleblowers are supported and encouraged to report misconduct. If upheld, this ruling may create new barriers for those brave enough to come forward. For #compliance professionals, this shift highlights the importance of reinforcing internal reporting channels and maintaining strong protections for reporters. Even as legal frameworks evolve, creating a culture where employees feel safe to report without fear of #retaliation is crucial to promoting transparency and ethical practices.

Working in Private Sectors for years and as like every other sector there are pros and cons, this time I have decided to step and speak up on toxic office cultures, and biased management systems which not just infiltrates a professional's motivation and integrity but impacts heavily on an individual's self respect, honesty and trust. Laws are made to be broken which is a proverb but then again Laws are made to mend these bended systems and crimes. Yes it is a punishable crime by law which i believe should be acted on. We say we got independence, but have we???? #privatesectors #systematichassassments #laborlaws #toxicworkculture #lawstopreventandpunish #professionals

It was a pleasure to speak about “Building Effective Whistleblowing Protections and Compliance” with Mary Inman, Sybille Raphael and Francesca Cassidy-Taylor during yesterday’s ThoughtLeaders4 Disputes | TL4D webinar. Take home points: 1) The inadequate protections for #whistleblowers in the UK; 2) The importance of whistleblowers for robust and transparent corporate #governance; 3) The need for cultural change in attitudes towards whistleblowers who raise their heads above the parapet; 4) The way in which the #Rewards programs in the US incentivise public interest disclosures. #publicinterest #accountability #irwinmitchell

But, because wrongdoing is often much more extensive than originally believed, organizations cannot afford to assume that an incident is an isolated event.
