Want to turn a one time donor into a recurring donor? Here are two big words for all charities that will help. From my personal experience: My wife and I always select worthy charities every financial year to give to. We love helping good grow. 🌳 But I'm always surprised by two big words that are often missing. It's a simple 'Thank you.' (beyond the thank you page on your website) Most charities now use automated receipting for tax deduction purposes, but I'm still surprised that many miss this vital opportunity to say thank you. I know this has a big impact on recurring giving in the future, versus someone giving a one time gift. How to say thank you: 1. Change your subject line from receipt to 'Thank you for your donation' in your automated receipt email. 2. Send an automated follow up email from the CEO/fundraising director to say thank you again and expand on the impact your generosity makes. 3. In the future you have an opportunity to move the one time giver to a recurring giver. But don't have this in your email sequence straight away. Give them some time and send more emails about the impact your organisation is making over a few months. Then ask.

But I am asking you to think about those around you who don't have what you have, the seniors in your community who don't have relatives to help them. They are alone and need our help. I CARE, Inc. (a 501(c)(3) non-profit) has been helping to provide free transportation to seniors since 1998, and we are asking for your support to help them continue their mission. As I recently shared, I am now working for St Vincent de Paul - QLD, so for the first time since 2008, I am not working in or for a Medical Centre. Given the diversity of the skills, experiences, and qualifications I gained in that time, it was time for a new industry, complete with new challenges. The very first project I was given, was helping with this years FNQ Vinnies Community Sleepout. The goal of this event, has three main components: 1) Raise awareness to the plight of over 22,000 Queenslanders who will tonight not have adequate or long term living arrangements, and will be braving the elements anywhere they can find 2) Raise awareness to the Good Works that St Vincent de Paul Society has done, continues to do, is about to do, and would like to do in the future. 3) Raise monies towards through events such as this to help achieve the goal of building 500 homes in Queensland over the next five years. You have the choice to spend the night under the stars with nothing but cardboard boxes for shelter. For so many others, they have lost this choice, and sleep wherever they can, possibly not even knowing where that will be each night. Sadly I, like so many others, suffer from Sleep Apnea, so sleeping rough for me is not really an option unless I have somewhere I can plug my CPAP machine into. But, I would still like to be part of the Fundraising, so have registered a donation page and have made the first donation. I'm asking if my extended network can do two things for me. Share this post, and donate $1.00. More if you can, but you would be amazed at how quickly this can grow. If you tell two people, who tells two people, who also tells two people, etc., after 4 iterations, my 600+ connections could extend my reach to 4,800 people, and raise $4,800.00 if everyone donates $1.00. My personal goal is $2,000.00, but I think we can smash this in no time! Beavertown Staff Lost Hours Walk 2024 👣 Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. Campaign Against Living Miserably exists to change this - by offering life-saving services, provoking national conversation, and bringing people together to reject living miserably. This year, Beavertown staff will be taking part in CALM’s Lost Hours Walk, to spread awareness and walk in memory of those lost to suicide. We’ll be walking 20 miles across London from Ponders End to Peckham to raise funds for CALM’s life-saving services on 10th and 11th October 2024. Please donate to our fundraising page and thank you for your support! £12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call. "On average, 125 people in the UK take their own lives every week with 75% of all suicides in the UK being male. That's not ok. CALM exists to change this by creating more action across society through our campaign work. We also bring people together with collective action around passion points like running, football and art to drive cultural change and empower communities to better support the mental health and wellbeing of themselves and those around them." Thank you From Amy I’m writing to let you know about a campaign run by Community of Purpose, which aims to raise £25,000 to help 1,000 disadvantaged children in Bristol this Christmas. Community of Purpose have been one of our chosen good causes for a number of years and I’m reaching out to gain your support for this worthy Christmas campaign.    Did you know that around almost a quarter of children in Bristol receive free school meals, representing one of the highest rates in England? Many families in our city face tough choices between fundamentals like heating their homes and putting food on the table.     This campaign, backed by Bristol Live and Bristol Post, aims to tackle this by offering respite to 1,000 of those families in South Bristol through the Break Free programme.   Break Free provides meals and enriching activities for thousands of children during the holidays. The money raised through this campaign will go towards a special Christmas meal, activities, and care packages for these young people, ensuring they have a festive season to remember.    We’ve supported this programme since 2018 and see firsthand the impact it makes on people’s lives.
