Don't Confuse Goals for Strategy 🤭 Mistaking goals for strategy happens when you throw out a stretch goal without addressing the challenges that are in the way of achieving it A goal is defined as: A broad primary outcome 💫 The result you are looking for! A strategy is: The approach you take to achieve a goal 💫 The How you get there! Big Goals can stretch you and motivate you. They focus you and your team on what’s important. Goals should be SMART ⚡Specific ⚡Measurable ⚡Attainable ⚡Relevant ⚡Time Bound. Using the SMART method helps push you further, gives you a sense of direction, and helps you organize and reach your goals. But Goals are not a replacement for strategy. My favorite author on the subject, Richard Rumelt, who wrote his book Good Strategy / Bad Strategy says: ⚡“A strategy is like a lever that magnifies force."⚡ The desired destination of the rock is the Big Goal, and how you move it is your strategy. Developing a good strategy involves diagnosis and identifying what obstacles might prevent you from achieving your goal. When analyzing these obstacles there are a few things you need to consider. Firstly; External factors This is when you should think critically about competitive, geographical or economical factors. Secondly; Internal factors This is when you should reflect on what are the capabilities of your team? Once you have diagnosed the challenges, then you can establish your approach. The HOW you are going to overcome the challenges you listed. From there, it's all about Action. 🎬 As you can see, there are clear differences between Goals and Strategy. By understanding these differences you can seperate yourself by applying a system where you establish: SMART goals and a STRATEGY to achieve them. That right there is part of the formula to reaching Peak Performance! #sales #coaching #goals #strategy #business #peakperformance

“It doesn’t matter how fast you are going, if you are going in the wrong direction” - Seth Godin. The only way to have achievement, for you to advance, is not to work more hours. It is to get better Clients. Better Clients demand more, talk about you more, come back more & pay you more. You don’t get really good Clients by doing a really good job for bad Clients. You get better Clients by creating the conditions for better clients to seek you out. So the reason you need a strategy is because what you are doing right now, is getting the Clients you have right now. And a strategy says here is how I am going to take a different path to get a different outcome to who I am going to seek to serve. Start looking for problems and see the solution. Don’t copy others. Develop your craft and your skill. Think carefully about how you spend your time. Work on your business not in your business Be kinder to yourself. Make better plans about who you are serving. Check if you are climbing the wrong mountain. You are not stuck in traffic, you are traffic.
Why Strategy Always Beats Talent (w/Seth Godin)

“You don’t have to do it all on your own.” As a business owner this is something I wish I’d realised earlier! That said, I think it’s a lesson / epiphany that we all have at some point. It’ll happen at different times for each of us. Having the epiphany is one thing though. Accepting it and then doing something about it is another thing entirely. It’s hard to let go of that feeling that you have to know it all and do it all. But I speak from first hand experience when I say “it’s a lonely place if you hold onto it”. Being able to talk to other people, bounce ideas around, be vulnerable, accept input, get focussed, sanity check your thoughts, learn new things from someone with more experience or an alternative view - these are all incredibly important if you want to move away from that feeling of isolation and overwhelm. I work with several clients on a purely coaching / consulting basis to act as just that person. ➡️ Someone who will listen, not judge. ➡️ Someone who will understand the emotion but provide balance and logic. ➡️ Someone who will take all of your amazing ideas and help you focus and prioritise. ➡️ Someone who will unpack your marketing and sales growth strategy, be honest and bring clarity. ➡️ Someone who can show you HOW to get the results, not just WHAT you should do. ➡️ And should you need it, access time a team that can save you time by designig, writing and building the sales and marketing assets you need to grow. I get how lonely it can be to have the buck stop with you, and if you don’t have a leadership team in place every decision goes through you. If you want to grow your business, get more focussed and intentional about your sales and marketing and create a customer journey that converts…. …I will be taking on 3 new coaching clients this quarter (minimum 90 day rolling agreement). ⏰ If you’re starting to realise that you don’t have to know it all and do it all on your own, then now would be a great time for us to talk. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eGYDGpYD #business #businessowner #growth

One key thing I’ve noticed while coaching sales teams is that mindset plays a huge role in their success. We all know the quote by Henry Ford: 'Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right' Yet, most salespeople I’ve spoken to jump on calls already assuming or expecting the worst. We talk about pre-qualifying leads, but in reality, many people are pre-judging and pre-assuming instead. Working on individual mindset and habits has proven to be one of the best investments you can make in your business. People buy from people, after all. Whether you’re selling a product or a service, you need to invest in the people who represent your business and interact with your potential clients. If you fire employees quickly due to poor performance without providing adequate support, the same issue is likely to arise with your next hire. Invest time in training your team and hiring professional coaching, and you will see results. I’ve already seen individuals go from zero to five figures in just a few days by adjusting their mindset and implementing small habits. I can’t wait to see how much more they’ll achieve in the coming weeks! #mindsetcoach #habitcoach #performancecoach #corporatecoaching #businesscoaching

Imagine you have been striving to secure business from potential clients for months or even years, and your resilience pays off as you finally get the opportunity to present your ideas. Naturally, you would feel enthusiastic but perhaps also pressured to perform well. However, if you receive signs of disapproval from clients during the presentation, how would your subconscious mind react? What would your language convey? Would there be signs of desperation? It's not easy to remain composed and avoid appearing needy in business interactions. From my observation and experience coaching sales professionals, I have noticed that many often come across as desperate for business and appear overly submissive to clients. Selling isn't about showcasing your neediness; it's about elevating your self-image and demonstrating how your services or products can enhance their lives, creating a win-win scenario. This shift occurs when we detach ourselves from seeking constant approval and condition our minds to accept "no" or refusal as perfectly acceptable outcomes. #salestrainer #salescoach #traininganddevelopment #training #corporatetraining #professionaldevelopment #learninganddevelopment #coaching #salestraining #skilldevelopment #businessgrowth #businessdevelopment #sellingskills

Intuitive - readily learned or understood, based on feelings rather than proof. I came into the business world like a new born baby, I had no knowledge of how to operate a business, connect to others, or become successful. My success is based largely on knowing ahead of time it would be hard work. I am also very intuitive. I love to learn about different aspects of business. I became a business owner following many health/personal challenges. I never let those challenges hold me back. I fell into becoming a motivational speaker, over the years I have become a global keynote speaker. The personal and business consulting came about a few years later when my clients, or members of audiences globally asked me if I would work with them. I look for opportunities. I know that when one door closes another one opens. I am resilient, determined, and I never give up. A little bit about me to introduce myself to those people who have yet to knwol me properly. All of the above means that my clients work with me because I have not been trained as a "one size fits all". I work with companies, groups, individuals who understand that the strategies I offer can be used time and time again. Business growth is like an evergreen plant, without nurturing it, setting a goal to look to see how it's going on a regular basis, the plant will wither away. It's a constant roller coaster of ups and downs. \ I help my clients navigate the ups and downs, the growth, and every aspect of personal or business development. #growth #business #development #personal #challenges #clients https://lnkd.in/dQqYDa_s

Are you setting yourself (and your business) up for consistent success? Maybe you’re running a team—or maybe you’re the whole team. Either way, you know that success takes more than a plan on paper. It takes the right daily habits, accountability, and, yes, those all-important questions that keep you moving forward. So, where do you see yourself here? •Do you have a clear, inspiring vision that you (and your team, if you have one) can rally around? •Are you doing regular check-ins—whether with your team or yourself—to review goals, progress, and those little speed bumps that hold you back? •Are you fostering a routine that includes daily huddles, weekly planning, and monthly reviews to stay focused and keep momentum? It’s easy to fall into the trap of reacting to the day-to-day, especially when running a business on your own. But to build real, long-term success, these small, steady steps are key. As a business and sales coach, I help people set up sustainable, high-performing systems—whether you’re managing a team or a solo business. If you’re ready to elevate your approach to something more consistent and strategic, I’d love to talk about how we can make that happen. #BusinessSuccess #SelfLeadership #SalesCoaching #ConsistencyIsKey

The Four Tenets that transformed my approach to Business Yesterday, Sunday, I had an intriguing moment while reading about Identifying your Four Tenets of Work. It made me reflect on my own journey as a Business Development Manager. I realized that understanding the 'why' behind my work is crucial. As Ryan described, knowing the 'why' fuels my drive and motivation. The Why: I work in Business Development because I'm passionate about empowering partners and affiliates to succeed. I relate with them because I believe in their potential. My 'why' lifts me up when faced with challenges. The Work: To achieve success, I break down my goals into actionable steps. I focus on increasing my clientele and business. I encourage partners and affiliates to do the same - what daily actions are you taking to expand your business? The Wall: Fear can be a powerful motivator. I recall a humbling experience early in my career as a Financial Advisor. It fueled my determination to excel. Now, I strive to ensure my potential is never wasted. What fears drive you to improve? The Win: My goal is to leave a lasting impact, making a significant difference in the lives of partners and affiliates. I believe positivity is the key to achieving this - it's the oil that keeps everything running. Stay positive, and you'll be working towards a career, not just a job. These insights have reignited my passion for Business Development. I'm excited to apply these principles and help #affiliates and #partners achieve unparalleled success. #PersonalGrowth #Leadership #SuccessMindset #Partnerships #Motivation
