The pyramid of harm is a really helpful way to understand how different levels of harmful behaviours are all connected. By using a simple animation, we can visually demonstrate how seemingly low-level behaviours are the first steps on a path of aggression and build a foundation to normalise and excuse sexual violence. This animation forms part of Eggu's latest interactive elearning programme with Brook on Bystander Interventions: Stand Up and Step In. A course designed to equip you with the skills to intervene safely and effectively in situations of sexual harassment and gender-based violence, creating a more inclusive and respectful environment for everyone 🙌 #bystander #bystanderintervention #digitallearning #elearning #animation

What happened to maternal characters during the last decade 2010 - 2020 in Western animated series?! Due to the changing requirements of life, the expansion of the roles of each family member, and the need for their independence; ideas development became a must in the Western (US American) animation industry that targets kids in particular. In general, cartoon shows often choose the main characters as less fortunate children, who have fewer friends, and are shaken in confidence with what they have. This is most likely due to the audience these programs are directed to; During the summer vacation, everyone goes to play outside and engage in group activities, while children who have lower social skills (bullys magnet you can say) remain in front of the television were they feel safer...they need stimuli to strengthen their personalities and help them with the challenges of daily life. In this post, I will talk about the development of the role of the mother in the 2d cartoon series. In Dexter's Laboratory, which began airing in 1996, the mother's character appeared as a housewife who was extremely concerned with housework, grocery shopping, and waiting for her husband to arrive... She doesn't even have a clue about her children's interests! Including the presence of a huge laboratory under the house for Dexter, (many episodes of the mother’s adventures were presented in a comedic manner without any significant message) and we rarely saw any moments to strengthen the mother’s relationship with her son Dexter or her daughter Didi. This leaves more room for writers to produce crazy episodes completely independent of parental control! As for the series “Elliot from Earth,” which began airing in 2021, things are completely different! Elliot's mother is the main heroine, along with her son, and the main driver of events. We see her eagerness to raise her son and take care of him, at the same time she has her interests and work in the field of scientific research, which may intersect with the interests of her child, but the beautiful thing about it is that she was involved with him in choosing the decisions that he made. It determines the course of their lives together. We see right and wrong, the child’s self-reliance, and the presence of his mother by his side. It is a suitable series for a mother to watch with her child and even discuss the course of events with him/her. Perhaps it is not fair to compare Dexter with Elliot (both produced by Cartoon Network) with more than 20 years gap, the bigger picture here is that cartoons have become not only comic and fun but also full of challenges and lessons. The media in our current time is considered an essential partner in education and the formation of practical skills. And social activities for children and adults, as they were and still are. Have you recently watched an interesting series with your children? #mothersday #cartoon #2danimation #storytelling #characterdesign

Accessibility First, Second, and Third. Not many animation studios care about accessibility. BIEN does. Designing with subtitling in mind? Check. • But what about color blindness? • Mobile viewing for people with disabilities? • How thick should the line weight be to be seen on mobile phones? We care about these issues and we address them at the beginning of the project, not just as a last-minute consideration.
