"People do not want to be enlightened about you, unless they are curious about you...” Donald Miller To those of you who have lived a sheltered life, Dave Little is the G.O.A.T. of late 20th Century graphic design / illustration, who created artwork that framed the seminal period of UK pop culture during the 80s/90s. Like a golden thread embedded within a rich tapestry of a de-facto audio visual revolution, Dave played a big part in a movement that went on to influence the development of electronic dance music and club culture across the globe. While a bit reticent to talk about his previous artistic endeavours for fear of muddying the waters between his former articulation (graphic artist) and his current one (Creative Director of the Rockers Delight clothing line ), we advised him to dip into his creative legacy and use it to embellish his brand story and extend his social reach. Utilising the IG reel collaboration tool, we linked up with another game-changer from back in the day, Mark Moore of S'Express, to create a short series of content that showcased Dave's creative history. Organic IG insights from the last 30 days: ⭐️Accounts reached: 4.8K (+566.95%); Followers - 29.9%; Non-Followers - 70.1% ⭐️Accounts Engaged: 587 (+1, 297.6%); Followers - 42.1%; Non-Followers - 57.9% ⭐️Impressions: 11,543 (+512%) ⭐️Content Interactions: 1,017 (+16, 850%) For more info 👉 https://lnkd.in/gdvsscSA #BrandCollaboration #BrandDevelopment #BrandAwareness #ContentStrategy

Does the Elevator Pitch Work for Everyone? The elevator pitch—an instant summary of what you do—may work for some, but for creatives it can feel limiting. Creativity thrives in nuance and expression, and trying to capture it in a few words often oversimplifies the essence of the work. Creatives use a different language. When asked to explain with words what they usually convey through images, objects, or music, it’s a challenge that doesn’t always translate well. Sometimes, showcasing the work directly through visuals or experiences is far more effective than a brief pitch. ❓ How do you approach explaining your creative work—do you rely on a traditional elevator pitch or find other ways to communicate your vision? ❗ Check out my latest blog post where I share my own take on the elevator pitch. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dNz8Gum5 #elevatorpitch #communication #creative #design #arts

Only 3 spots left for our next Creatives & Coffee. Ping me if you'd like to make magazine covers with Richard. Will be a good time! The Creative Exercise Few people are better than Richard at making a statement in a clever, head-turning visual. (Think of his infamous Bloomberg Business covers) He can tell a story with just a single image and a few words that offers a hilarious social critique. At this event, he will share how he recontextualizes and reuses cultural icons, meme culture, street art, news, and media trends, along with a bit of cheeky behavior, to design conversation-sparking images. Call it a first-thought, best-thought process, which he will share with attendees. Then attendees will have the chance to apply Turley’s process to creating their own magazine cover. Who should attend? 1. Creative Directors who want to go inside the mind of someone who has surely made them jealous over the past 10 years. 2. Brand storytellers who feel they are creatively boxed in and want ideas to break out of it. 3. Publishing pros who yearn for the good old days of print, but now live in the digital world.

⏮️Remember when the only way to learn more about an artist was to visit their website and sift through static images and long biographies? 🧐I recently went through some old stuff and came across my piece for the African Artists' Foundation/Lagos Photo and Joana Choumali’s "Awoulabas/Taille Fines" exhibition in 2016, which explored the concept of body perfection.🖌️🎨 👏🏽It's interesting to see how visual content has overtaken text as the primary medium for providing context and narrative about art, and how content marketing has shifted from being primarily the purview of galleries to becoming more of a collaborative venture with the artist.✅ Which type of art content do you find most engaging?💁🏽♂️ #throwbackpost #contemporaryart #contentmarketing

The one question that stops creatives dead in their tracks: How do I approach new clients? In an authentic way that doesn’t feel shitty but gets me work. Should you: • Pitch them with your services right away? • Show them everything you can do and hope they need you now? • Offer a casual meeting to start slow? • Post content and hope the right person sees it? • Refine your messaging to attract your ideal client? Or do you, like many designers and artists, just keep working and hope the next job leads to another? It can feel like a fog, with no clear starting point. You’re unsure who to reach out to, and there are endless obstacles—clients with no budget, no understanding of design’s value, or those who turn to DIY or AI. This was Hamish’s challenge. He’s an incredible visual artist, creating textural works and concept pieces from natural forms. But he’d never had a gallery show. Hamish’s goal? Get noticed by galleries in New Zealand, book a solo show, and open doors for future representation. The key is getting noticed by the right people—those who align with your style and vision. That’s what I helped Hamish do. We built a plan: 1. Identified ideal galleries. 2. Created an outreach and communication strategy. 3. Focused on starting meaningful conversations. In just one months, Hamish landed his first solo show in Auckland, representation, and interest from other galleries. Since then, he’s achieved so much more. Here’s the takeaway: to find the right clients, you need to start conversations. When you connect with people who value your work, you’ll discover opportunities where your creative talent fits their needs—and you’ll get paid. The process is simple but requires a plan. That’s where the Kult Method comes in. For a limited time, you can access our free 8-minute training to learn how it works. More conversations = more leads = more chances to connect with your ideal client. Don’t stay stuck. Start reaching out and building the creative career you deserve.
