The Oreshnik is a Russian intermediate-range ballistic missile known for its exceptional speed, exceeding Mach 10. It is equipped with six warheads, each containing submunitions, making it highly destructive and difficult to intercept. The Oreshnik was first used in combat on November 21, 2024, during the Russo-Ukrainian War, targeting Ukraine's PA Pivdenmash facility in Dnipro. While initially believed to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), subsequent analysis confirmed it was an Oreshnik. The missile's high speed and maneuverability make it a significant threat, as current air defense systems struggle to effectively counter such advanced weaponry. Its deployment highlights the evolving nature of warfare and the increasing importance of hypersonic technology.

#Publication_Alert "India possesses a good expertise in the field of missiles and a robust Strategic Missile Force architecture is already in place. Now that a decision to raise an IRF has been taken, we must proceed with alacrity to ensure that the IRF structures so raised are reliable, robust and will survive the test of time and technology. It is evident, that technology will be a key driver in our endeavor to transcend the yawning gap with our adversaries, not to catch up, but leapfrog their capabilities." writes Maj Gen Bimal Monga, SM, VSM for the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS) Download and Read here: https://lnkd.in/gekhJ5pw #india #indianarmedforces #rocketforces #missile #defence #policy #cenjows

Recent satellite images reveal that the Chinese military may be conducting drills targeting US fighter jets and aircraft carriers, indicating possible conflict strategies. Captured by Google Earth on May 29, the images display a model aircraft carrier and over 20 replicas of US stealth fighters in the Xinjiang desert. The photos, published by Clash Report on X, show the Chinese PLA Air Force practising air strikes on these mock-ups. Although unverified by official sources, these exercises suggest China's focus on neutralizing US naval threats through enhanced ballistic and cruise missile systems, as explained by Collin Koh from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies. The PLA’s exercises, reflecting a broader strategy against US intervention, may involve simulating attacks on US territories such as Guam, Alaska, and Hawaii. This aligns with Beijing's emphasis on realistic wartime scenarios aimed at counter-intervention, particularly in regions like the South China Sea and Taiwan. Malcolm Davis from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute highlights that these drills likely enhance the PLA's precision in targeting moving sea targets, such as aircraft carriers, and improving long-range strike capabilities on land targets like airfields. Historically, the PLA has maintained that its drills are not directed at any specific nation, but the choice of mock targets often reveals strategic intentions. For example, past exercises have simulated attacks on structures resembling Taiwan's presidential office. Timothy Heath from the Rand Corporation suggests that the visible nature of these mock-ups indicates that China might want to signal its serious military preparations to the US, possibly serving as a strategic warning. Hong Kong-based commentator Leung Kwok-leung speculates that the drills might simulate strikes on Alaska, home to many F-22s and a crucial national missile defense system. The location is significant given that an F-22 was used last year to down a suspected Chinese spy balloon. Overall, the exercises underscore China's strategic focus on improving its military precision and readiness in potential conflict scenarios involving US forces. *(Stephen Chen, South China Morning Post)*

In any high-intensity conflict, Navy surface combatants would rapidly expend their missiles. But because the Navy cannot reload its principle missile magazine, the Vertical Launch System, at sea, ships could need weeks to divert and rearm during critical phases of a conflict. No matter how many munitions we have available, not being able to access them when needed could spell the difference between victory and defeat. I call for closing this logistical bottleneck in my latest for the Georgetown Security Studies Review .
Magazine depth may receive most of the policy attention, and for good reason. But given the logistical bottleneck posed by the Mk-41 Vertical Launch System (VLS) reloading, even full stockpiles could be rendered useless in a high-intensity fight against massed enemy formations and daunting missile salvos. “Fire and Forget” weapons like Javelin have been crucial in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.⚠️ As of January 2024, the United States has delivered more than 10,000 of its advanced anti-tank missile Javelin to Ukraine since the war began. The earliest anti-tank missile to see combat was the German Ruhrstahl X-7 "Rotkäppchen" wire guided missile of World War II. As technology advanced, anti tank missiles have evolved as well – they have become more mobile, more precise, and consistently increased in range. Increase in geopolitical tensions, asymmetric warfare tactics, and territorial disputes are boosting the need for powerful, flexible, and technologically advanced anti tank missile systems. By 2032, the anti tank missile market is expected to reach a value of US$ 2.1 Billion according to recent research report by Stratview Research.📊 Interested to learn more about the market dynamics of these powerful missiles? 🌟 **Update and Assurance: Our Resilience Amidst Challenges** 🌟 Dear Followers, Friends, and Connections, In the wake of recent events, I feel it's crucial to share both an update on the situation and a message of unwavering resilience. On the night of March 29, 2024, Ukraine faced a formidable missile-aircraft strike against vital facilities of the fuel and energy sector. This assault involved a myriad of attack vectors: - A total of 99 air attack means, including 60 "Shahed-136/131" strike UAVs, various ballistic and cruise missiles, and guided air missiles, launched from multiple regions. - The enemy aimed to undermine our energy infrastructure, employing advanced technologies and strategic points of launch. However, in the face of adversity, the strength and resolve of the Ukrainian defense forces shone brightly. Anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups, and radio-electronic warfare equipment were swiftly mobilized. Their heroic efforts led to the successful interception and destruction of 84 air targets, significantly mitigating potential damages. 🛡 **Successes**: - 58 "Shahed" UAVs neutralized - A mix of 26 advanced missiles rendered ineffective This outcome is a testament to the courage, skill, and dedication of those who stand guard over our safety. Honor and praise to all defenders of Ukraine, who protect our homeland from terror. 💬 **To My Network**: I understand that many of you have been concerned about the safety and well-being of those of our Team here. Let me reassure you that, despite these challenges, we are holding strong and all fine (except some lack of sleep). Our mission continues unabated, and such disturbances only strengthen our resolve. Even the precious few hours of sleep we manage to find are filled with a determination to press forward. Together, we face these trials with a united front, guided by the belief in our victory. Thank you for your thoughts, support, and solidarity. 🇺🇦 Together - to victory! Your unwavering spirit and support mean the world to us. "𝑹𝒖𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒂'𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒂𝒑𝒐𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑼𝒌𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒆." The deployment of 𝑭𝑨𝑩-3000 air bombs, equipped with a controlled planning and correction module (UMPC), has been reported against Ukrainian positions north of Kharkiv, the second-largest city in Ukraine. This powerful weapon not only causes significant destruction but also has a profound psychological impact on enemy soldiers within its range. The 𝑭𝑨𝑩-3000 with UMPC is a 3-ton high-explosive aerial bomb, enhanced with a universal module for planning and correction. This technology converts the bomb into a highly accurate weapon, capable of striking targets up to 70 kilometers away from the launch site. The precision of the bomb, with a deviation of only 5 to 20 meters from the target, makes it an efficient choice considering its destructive capacity. The explosive yield of the 𝑭𝑨𝑩-3000 is equivalent to 1.2 tons of TNT, ranking it among the most devastating munitions in contemporary warfare. Containing 2700 kilograms of explosives, plus an additional 1600 kilograms from its metal casing, the 𝑭𝑨𝑩-3000 becomes a lethal weapon. Upon detonation, the metal body fragments become deadly shards capable of demolishing small structures. Originating from the Soviet era, this bomb and its smaller variants—the FAB-1500, FAB-500, and FAB-250—remain in large quantities within Russian arsenals, primarily used for obliterating fortified positions. Military analyst 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏 𝑾𝒆𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒕 points out that Ukraine has not yet developed a method to counter this weapon, leading to a deteriorating situation for Ukrainian forces at the front lines. 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏 𝑾𝒆𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒕 explains that the FAB-3000 bomb covers a wide area upon explosion, making it exceedingly difficult to intercept. If used extensively, this formidable weapon could cripple Ukraine's entire air defense system. The situation is further exacerbated by the United States running low on air defense missiles, unable to supply all its allies. #ukraine #us #russia #war #bomb #weapon #destruction #

**The Houthi Hypersonic Missile: A Game-Changer for Middle East Security and Israel** The recent Houthi missile launch, reportedly covering 1,270 miles (2044 Kilometers) in just 11 minutes, has thrown a serious curveball at Middle East security. Targeting Tel Aviv and potentially evading Israeli defenses, this hypersonic missile isn't just fast—it's a new breed of threat that traditional defense systems struggle to handle. The fact that non-state actors like the Houthis are getting their hands on such advanced tech is alarming. It raises big questions: Are we heading into an arms race? How will global powers like the U.S. and China respond? This isn’t just about one missile; it’s a wake-up call that modern warfare is evolving rapidly, and we need to rethink our strategies before it’s too late. #MiddleEast #HyperSonicMissiles #Houthis #Yemen #Israel #GlobalSecurity Ahmed Fathi Sept 15th, 2024 New York, NY
