In the competitive world of GeoGuessr, where strategy meets knowledge, I recently learned a valuable lesson about the power of silence. I took part in GeoGussr competition it was organized with a prize pool worth ₹5000, the initial few rounds went good but seeing some player's pin point accuracy the organizer jokingly made a bluff "I know you're using tricks, now tell me who's that ?" that moment of indiscretion changed the game’s course. A fellow competitor, in a burst of transparency, revealed that they were exploiting website's bug, which allowed them to see pin point locations. This led to an uproar, transforming the event into a chaotic scene. The aftermath? The prize pool was significantly reduced to ₹1000. The winner was picked randomly using a roulette. This experience was a stark reminder that sometimes, keeping your cards close to your chest until the very end is not just a strategy, it’s a necessity. In a world where sharing is often seen as caring, there’s a time and place for everything. Knowing when to share and when to hold back can be the difference between a full and a diminished reward. Let’s embrace the wisdom of strategic silence and let our victories make the noise. #GeoGuessr #Strategy #SilenceIsGolden #Competition #LifeLessons

Dydia DeLyser, Professor of Geography, California State, Fullerton, talks about significance of neon signs in transforming the American landscape and their role in community building. Dydia & her husband, Paul Greenstein, dive deeper on the history neon lights on their website. “One of the things that neon signs really do is act geographically. They work to attract, to draw people into them. And what that means is that they create community. They create community underneath their light.” - Dydia DeLyser https://lnkd.in/g4yeP674

It is a cardinal sin to use an undefined acronym. I reserve the right to define the acronym with whatever meaning I choose when this happens. That is all. #petpeeve #acronyms #effectivecommunication

A Penrose tiling exemplifies a type of tiling known as #aperiodic. In this context, tiling involves covering a plane with non-overlapping polygons or shapes. Aperiodic means the tiling lacks arbitrarily large repeating sections. These tilings derive their name from mathematician and physicist Roger Penrose, who extensively studied them during the 1970s. Despite their absence of translational symmetry, Penrose tilings can exhibit both reflection symmetry and fivefold rotational symmetry. I created a simple Penrose Tiling Generator in #Grasshopper. I used the subdivision rules to realize this. The definition runs a loop so the Hoopsnake add-on is necessary. The triangular mapping component of Grasshopper is the key point of this generator.
