Interesting take on the Dujardin whipping incident. Speciesism & cognitive dissonance regarding animal welfare is something I care deeply about. Every animal should be treated equally with respect and not subjected to a hierarchy of compassion based on the human perspective of who matters the most. More relevant to the Dujardin case, anyone working professionally with animals, whether it be in sporting events, education, training or within the charity sector there should be zero tolerance for animal abuse of any kind. More legislation surrounding what is and isn’t okay should come into place so animal abusers can be held accountable. If one incident is caught on camera then you can likely guarantee it is a behaviour pattern for that individual, not a “moment of madness” as Dujardin and many other abusers state. Many incidents like this get brushed under the carpet to protect abusers and organisations and only a few stories like this actually make the headlines. All animals matter and everyone has a role to play in holding individuals like this to account. Afterall the animals cannot speak for themselves. Be their voice. #Dujardin #speciesism #animalwelfare #cognitivedissonance

Why is everyone so up in arms about Charlotte Dujardin whipping a horse more than 20 times? Is it because Dujardin is (was) a highly-regarded Olympian? Is it because the abuse was caught on video? Is it because it she hit the horse 20 times, and not just 5 or 10? No, actually it's for none of those reasons. The reason we're all outraged is because she whipped a HORSE, and because horses are a species of animal we choose to love and protect. How do I know this? Well, because there are hundreds if not thousands of videos online of farmers and abattoir workers whipping, hitting, electrocuting, burning, and breaking the bones of pigs, sheep, cows, turkeys, and chickens - many of which my colleagues and I have filmed and witnessed (particularly on farms across the UK, USA, and Europe) over recent months... And guess what? The press and the public couldn't care less. Good Morning Britain aren't showing the footage to their viewers. My Facebook friends aren't voicing their disgust. It isn't all over the newspapers. So ask yourself - is the suffering of a farmed animal less cruel, upsetting or newsworthy than that of Dujardin's poor horse? If your answer is 'yes', then please let me know why you think so. If your answer is 'no', then you'll come to understand why I speak up for farmed animals as often as I do... And how our speciesism and cognitive dissonance allows us to love and protect some animal species while ignoring the suffering and exploitation of others. By the way - has anyone seen the name of this beaten horse mentioned anywhere, or a report on his/her wellbeing? I doubt it - because this is only a horse, after all. 😔 #cognitivedissonance #CharlotteDujardin #speciesism

Whether they're big or small, young or old, rescue dogs come in all forms, each with a unique story to tell. Don't be afraid to open your heart and home to a furry friend in need from a shelter or rescue organization. Many of these dogs have ended up in their situation through no fault of their own, and with the right love and care, they can thrive in their new forever homes. Transitioning to a new environment can be challenging for rescue dogs, but with the help of an animal communicator, the process can be made easier. Animal communicators have a special gift for understanding and connecting with animals, allowing them to communicate the needs and emotions of rescue dogs during this crucial transition period. Whether it's helping to alleviate anxiety, building trust, or addressing past traumas, an animal communicator can play a vital role in helping rescue dogs feel safe, secure, and loved in their new homes. Today, let's honor the resilience and spirit of rescue dogs everywhere and celebrate the joy they bring to our lives. If you're considering adding a furry friend to your family, remember that rescue dogs are always ready to repay your love tenfold. Help make the transition easier by scheduling an animal communication call! 🐾💕 https://lnkd.in/egftChqE #NationalRescueDogDay #AdoptDontShop #PetRescue #AnimalCommunicator #AskYourAnimals

It has been twenty years of following Sparks and his books have made me believe in love and kindness between lovers, family relationships and even towards animals. His current book is also very intense following the themes of love and animal preservation as an important motto in life. #nicholassparks #bookstoread
