A foraging experience makes a wonderful gift, and here’s just a couple of reasons why: - An experience gift is something that yields “memory dividends” - not only do participants look forward to it and then enjoy the experience, it often brings happy memories for months and years after! - Foraging is how our species survived before agriculture and so it’s a very natural thing to do to our bodies and minds, and that means it feels good! - There are few better ways to connect with nature and enjoy all the wellbeing benefits it bestows than through foraging. Gift vouchers for both introductory experiences (2.5 hour) and full-day experiences are available from my website and after purchasing vouchers are emailed to you. https://lnkd.in/eHnY-zKw #foraging #wildfood #christmasgifts #giftvoucher #birthdaygifts

"Take your children to a farm to show them that food doesn't just come from a box but is grown with care. It's a hands-on way to teach them about farming, food sources, and the environment. The quote emphasizes how important exposing children to the food they consume is. In today's world, where processed and packaged foods dominate, many children need to be more connected to the origins of their meals. Taking them to a farm offers a tangible experience that can shape their understanding and appreciation for agriculture, nature, and the environment. It helps them understand the effort and care that goes into producing food, fostering a sense of respect and gratitude for the food they eat. . . . #FarmEducation #HandsOnLearning #FoodOrigins #AgriculturalAwareness #FarmVisit #TeachKidsAboutFood #FarmingExperience #EnvironmentalEducation #HealthyEating #FoodAppreciation #FarmtoTable #KidsAndFarming #precisiongrow #AgriculturalHeritage #SustainableLiving #FarmLife #FoodEducation #GratitudeForFood #LearningThroughExperience #ConnectingWithNature #FarmAdventure #HealthyFoodChoices #RealFoodExperience

Happy (Belated) Cow Appreciation Day! This handsome man is Chuck, our 7 year old pet steer. Chuck is a anomaly since steers are almost always in the supply chain by 24 months old age. Chuck is living his best life! On July 9, we celebrate the amazing contributions of cows to our world. Did you know that cows are responsible for providing us with essential products like milk, meat, and leather, which support millions of jobs and industries globally? Global Impact: Dairy: The global dairy industry produces over 800 million tons of milk annually, feeding billions and contributing to nutritional security worldwide. Beef: The beef industry generates around $167 billion in revenue in the U.S. alone, playing a significant role in the economy. Leather: Cows also supply the leather industry, which is valued at over $80 billion globally. Sustainable Farming: Soil Health: Grazing cows help maintain soil health by promoting nutrient cycling and reducing soil erosion. Biodiversity: Managed grazing systems can enhance biodiversity, supporting a wide range of plant and animal species. Let's take a moment to appreciate the vital role cows play in our lives and the tireless efforts of farmers and ranchers who care for these incredible animals. Join me in celebrating cows and their significant impact on our world! #CowAppreciationDay #SustainableAgriculture #DairyFarming #BeefProduction #AnimalWelfare #AgricultureStatistics #GlobalImpact

🐣All The Steps🐣 . Every Monday we have a team huddle with all of us working together on the farm. We talk through weekly updates, what has shifted with the weather and how that changes the needs of the birds, the land and we create new processes. 🌱 Every single step it takes to create this ending photo of shipping our chicks at the post office are all completely different equally important. From proper management of the flocks, cleaning of coops, egg collecting, sorting/incubating, troubleshooting, customer servicing, hatching, sorting, brooding, packing, shipping it is a whole lot of moving parts. Our team is small, just four of us but we are mighty and joyful everyday. 💫 🌱 These chicks in these white cheerful boxes look so simple and there is a whole incredible story behind what it takes to make this stage happen. Thank you for your support of us so we can continue to do so! We are grateful to be changing the narrative of what is possible within the hatching space and how chickens are treated - YOU are a huge part of the process because without you we would not be able to do any of it. ❤️ 🌱 Do you ever look at an and product that you create or consume in your life and think about all the steps it took along the way to being complete? We would love to hear about it! What are “simple” looking things that were actually quite complex to create? Let’s learn from one another. 🥰 . . . . . . . . . . #shippingday #alchemistfarm #farmlife #complexcreation #theprocess #behindthecurtain #lookmanohands #knowyourfarmerknowyourfood #knowyourfarmer #regenerativeagriculture #regenerativefarming #weloveourjob #dreamteam #chickenhatchery #hatcherylife #smallfamilybusiness #usps #smallfamilyfarm #humanehatchery #weknowwhatsup #mailorderchicks #darlingchicks #farmlifebestlife #closetotheland

I despise that there are more buns in a package then there are actual hot dogs in package. It is so superfluous! Joseph O'Connor mentioned Applegate's "Father of the Bride" moment. They realized that all of the claims customers need to scan on a hot dog package was no better than the bun n' dog dilemma. When customers shop for hot dogs they are inundated with choices. Do you get... No Antibiotics? All-Natural? Organic? and now...Regenerative Agriculture?? 😵💫 Joe says, "Applegate loyalists shouldn't have to choose!" Even though regenerative agriculture is the right thing to do. To execute however, can be a challenge because of the change that it requires for them and their partners—the farmers. Applegate has committed to making all hot dogs regenerative agriculture to remove that as a choice consumers need to make. This makes the category better for the customer and the environment. Regenerative agriculture in our food system is true innovation. It takes dedication, communication, follow through, and a little mindfulness💡🧘♂️. #innovation #cpgindustry #GRL #RetailExperts #sustainability #SteveMartin #allnatural #organic #regenerativeagriculture #hotdogs

What an exciting day with Schreurs & Sons team 👩🌾. Dust hasn’t settled in after #HortConnections yet…we are already back on the farms looking at delicious Celery and Leeks in Clyde and Tarwin, VIC. Always a pleasure to meet open minded and forward thinking growers, who invest in future and youth. We know a lot of hard work goes into growing good quality crops, but it is so much harder to do it sustainably and lead on innovation front. Varietal development, cover crop trials, native crops planting, water recycling, drone spraying and so many more initiatives! Definitely exceeded my expectations 👩🌾🤯. Well done Schreurs & Sons team, truly amazing work 👏. How do we share those success stories with customers and help them buy innovative and sustainably grown product consciously?? The video ends with farmer mother sharing the critical need to care for Mother Earth. She highlights the importance of avoiding chemicals in both soil and food by ensuring that what we offer to our children is pure and healthy and also expresses the gratitude to consumers who trust and purchase their produce. The aim was not just to bridge the gap between urban and farmer mothers, the effort was to shed the light on their daily routines, food habits, and the time they dedicate to their children. Living in cities, we often take our food sources for granted. This video serves as a reminder of why, how, and what needs to change in our approach to food sourcing. As a consumers, it is essential that we support organic farming, as this not only benefits our health but also encourages and uplifts marginal farmers. A concerning trend I see in the city is that the privileged people purchasing the farmland or managed farms for educational purposes, weekend gateways or to teach their younger one about the importance of soil, this purpose only serves when those land produce food for larger community. However, the key question is whether these farms are maintained sustainably. Farming is not owning a land, it's about we personally getting connected to the roots. It was inspiring for me to hear that farmer mother express her desire for her children to pursue agriculture, so that they can provide food for at least four people. This mindset is rare but essential in today's world. With Akshayakalpa Organic #sourceoffood #farmer #citylife

🌿 Raising pigs on pasture is both an art and a science, and at StarWalker Organic Farms, it’s a practice we cherish deeply. Why do we do it? 🍃 Nature’s Way: Pigs are naturally curious and social animals, and on our pastures, they roam freely, which is vital for their wellbeing and happiness. This natural behavior leads to healthier pigs and, in turn, higher quality pork. 🌱 Planet Friendly Farming: Pasture-raised systems help us reduce our environmental footprint. The pigs contribute to soil health through their natural rooting behavior, which helps aerate the soil and cycle nutrients. 🔍 Quality You Can Taste: Pigs that grow up with fresh air, sunshine, and clean grass develop a richer flavor profile. Their diet of diverse forages and organic feed enhances the taste and quality of the pork. 👨🌾 Regenerative Practices: By integrating pigs into our regenerative farming model, we’re able to maintain a balanced ecosystem that supports not only the animals but also the land and our future. At StarWalker, we’re dedicated to doing things right, and that means raising pigs in a way that honors their nature, supports our planet, and provides you with delicious, ethically raised pork. 🌟 #PastureRaised #RegenerativeFarming #SustainableAgriculture #OrganicPork #FarmLife #RegenerativeAgriculture #RegenerativePork #StarWalker

Did you know?🔎 It takes 2200L of water to produce 100g of beef. Swap that for #crickets, and the number drops by 2000 times! But that's not all. Apart from their delicious nutty flavor, #Europeancrickets bring other several benefits! Traditional animal farming takes up a lot of space, leading to #deforestation. Crickets can be raised vertically in our cities, using 15 times less space than traditional meat! Moreover, cows are methane experts, emitting a potent greenhouse gas. Crickets, on the other hand, emit 60 times less greenhouse gas than cows. And when it comes to nutrition, crickets are a powerhouse! Time to embrace this little bug with big benefits!🦗 #insectfood #alternativefood

A conversation with Chris Bloomfield and Daniel Reisman, co-founders of Collie, a provider of virtual #cow guidance system for managing production in #grazing, about enabling regenerative #dairy, how #virtuallyfencing drastically reduce labour and boost production. We dive deep into going from #vegan to grazing, #animal welfare, and the state of our planet. How do we enable more farmers to hold complexity on their farms? How do we use #technology to enable complexity instead of using technology to make everything mono, as we have done in the last 50 years? #agtech Chris and Daniel went on a months-long deep dive into the general food and agri space and systems change also thanks to Fresh Ventures Studio. They both came to the conclusion that in order to feed ourselves and the planet sustainably, we need to have animals as part of agriculture instead of separated, as it is the case now. And the biggest lever is getting more animals outside as soon as possible! So, what is holding us back? We have all seen the benefits of well-integrated animals in agriculture. Managed grazing does wonders for #pastures and #biodiversity, let alone when you graze cover #crops. Why aren’t animals, mostly ruminants, but also others, an integrated part of agriculture anymore? This mostly has to do with, surprisingly, labour as grazing animals properly takes a lot of time, often multiple times a day moves, etc. Enjoy and have a nice weekend! https://lnkd.in/dJUeYhYR
