Accelerating the achievement of gender equality requires re-thinking and challenging norms and paradigms that perpetuate business-as-usual approaches. UNRISD and its partners have brought to #CSW68 a set of side events that aim to put social justice at the centre of the debates. From the care-climate nexus to ecofeminist voices, we're bringing ideas that help shape just gender outcomes in institutions, policies, and political and social life. Happy to represent UN Women UK at the 68th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), from March 11th to 22nd, 2024. This year's priority theme is: "Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective." I truly believe that driving campaigns for and access to stigma-free, pleasure-positive information on health, sexuality, and human rights, and creating co-gendered spaces transcending intersectional barriers (like - race, ethnicity, class, caste, religion, ability, etc.) ~ can be crucial tools for advancing gender equality and fostering inclusive spaces. Looking forward to connecting with peers, engaging with experts, and exchanging learnings on furthering gender equality! #CSW68 #UNCSW68

Harmonizing Patriotism and Progress: A Dance towards Sustainable Development Goals" In a world where global challenges require unified efforts, embracing patriotism doesn't mean turning a blind eye to the broader global community. Instead, it's about recognizing our interconnectedness and working towards common goals. Just like a choreographed dance, patriotism and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can harmonize beautifully. Each step we take towards achieving the SDGs is a testament to our commitment to a better future for all. Whether it's promoting gender equality (SDG 5), ensuring quality education (SDG 4), or combating climate change (SDG 13), our actions resonate beyond borders. As we celebrate our national pride, let's also reflect on how our contributions align with the global agenda. By integrating the SDGs into our patriotic narratives, we amplify our impact and pave the way for a more inclusive and sustainable world. Let's dance with purpose, embracing patriotism as a catalyst for progress towards the SDGs. Together, we can create a symphony of change that transcends boundaries and leaves a lasting legacy for generations to come. #Patriotism #SDGs #GlobalGoals #Sustainability #Unity #ChangeMakers #Students #jaipuria

In every corner of this diverse world, there exists a sacred thread that weaves through the tapestry of human spirituality: the veneration of the Divine Feminine. This ancient and profound devotion transcends boundaries, cultures, and time, uniting souls in a celebration of the divine feminine energy that flows through the cosmos. The Sacred Feminine remains profoundly relevant in our contemporary world as it challenges gender stereotypes and promotes gender equality, fostering a more inclusive and balanced society. Embracing the Sacred Feminine encourages ecological consciousness, highlighting the importance of nurturing and respecting our planet. In an era of rapid change, it offers a spiritual anchor, guiding us towards inner peace and holistic well-being. Ultimately, the Sacred Feminine reminds us of the enduring power of compassion, creativity, and interconnectedness in the face of modern challenges. #ShaktiPuja #DussehraCelebrations #Dussehra2024 #DurgaPuja2024 #divinefeminine #divinefeminineenergy #culturalheritage #culturalheritagetourism

🚀 Every March 8th, the global community unites to commemorate International Women’s Day, renewing our commitment to advancing gender equality. Today, we recognise that while progress has been made in women’s rights, safety, and livelihood, there’s still work ahead. This day sheds light on the concerning disparities that women face across all societies, from health and education to financial security. In the fight to close these gaps, it’s important to recognise that barriers to gender equality persist in both public and private spheres. Beyond acknowledging these challenges, today also emphasises women’s autonomy and agency as catalysts for real change. IoNV recognises and applauds the remarkable women in Australia and around the world who break barriers daily – whether fighting for their position in the boardroom, advocating for equal unpaid labour at home, and everything in between. These everyday struggles will one day create a future where gender equality is achieved. #IoNV #NonViolence #SocialJustice #EqualityMatters #EndFamilyViolence #GenderEquality #Inclusion #DiversityAndInclusion #ChangeMakers #SafeCommunities #HumanRights
