Participating in the IR COIL project has been an amazing learning journey! Collaborating with students across three countries to conduct a stakeholder analysis felt like we were truly preparing for the global business world. It’s not every day you get to work with such diverse perspectives, and it made me realize how vital international collaboration is. Fostering Global Educational Partnerships: Spanish & South African Universities 🌍🎓 As the General Manager of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Republic of South Africa, I am excited to witness the growing and impactful collaborations between leading Spanish and South African educational institutions. These partnerships are crucial in today’s interconnected world, where the exchange of knowledge, culture, and innovation is key to shaping the future. Institutions like IE Business School, IESE Business School, Esade, and the Alianza 4 Universidades (a collaboration of top Spanish universities, including Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Universidad de Salamanca and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with South African Universities) are paving the way for academic and professional collaboration across borders. Through these alliances, we are creating opportunities for students, faculty, and businesses to share best practices, engage in research, and develop leadership skills that transcend geographical boundaries. On September 9, 2024, we had the privilege of hosting an exciting event, with the top Business Schools in Spain (IESE Business School, IE Business School and Esade) that brought together educators, thought leaders, and students from both Spain and South Africa. This gathering was an incredible opportunity to discuss how academic partnerships can drive innovation, promote cross-cultural understanding, and address the global challenges we face. At the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Republic of South Africa, we are proud to play a key role in strengthening these partnerships. By connecting Spanish universities and top business schools with South African counterparts, facilitating dialogue, and supporting collaboration between academia, government, and industry, we are helping to create a dynamic and mutually beneficial environment for knowledge exchange.
