In 2021, Health Sciences Authority (HSA) announced a significant update for medical device dealers: starting from 1 Jan 2025, only ISO 13485 certificates from SAC-accredited CBs or MDSAP certificates will be accepted for license applications. This move aims to uphold consistency, quality, and alignment with international medical device regulatory standards. * refer to the published options as below if you are a Importer or Wholeseller only; As the final transition year approaches, HSA has reiterated the importance for dealers to obtain confirmation from designated Certification Bodies (CB) accredited by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC). For those using ISO 13485 for license applications, ensuring that their CBs are SAC-accredited is crucial within the next few months. If CBs lack SAC accreditation by the upcoming recertification audit cycle from 2022 to 2024, dealers are advised to inquire about their accreditation plans or consider switching to accredited CBs. We have been proactive in collaborating with our overseas CB to ensure their SAC accreditation since the initial announcement and we are pleased with our readiness for the upcoming transition well ahead of time.
