The Access Group is a company that takes employee happiness, progress and retention seriously. A global British software business based in the Midlands, they have over 10,000 employees around the world. But rapid growth hasn’t stopped Access keeping a strong focus on the part of the business that matters most to their success: their employees. Access is a strong case study for several of the aspects of employment good practice that we have identified in our foundational research ‘Two Million Jobs’: - They’ve created a friendly office culture – a place where people want to work – and active team building is recognised as an important part of staff happiness. - The company is strongly interconnected with local institutes for higher education – with routes into the company directly from Loughborough College, apprenticeships on offer, and their global HQ located in Loughborough University’s Science and Enterprise Park. - Perhaps most importantly, Access creates clear paths to advancement for their employees and have made internal promotion a big part of the company’s culture.
