Eid Mubarak to all my friends, colleagues and partners. To truly refresh yourself, consider these 5 tips: 1. Disconnect Completely Commit to taking a break from electronic devices and social media. This helps in breaking the cycle of constant connectivity to work and the digital noise that crowds our daily lives. Spend this time reconnecting with yourself, with God or with nature. 2. Engage in Physical Activity Use this time to engage in physical activities that you enjoy but perhaps don't get to do often. This can be anything from hiking, cycling, swimming, or even trying out a new sport. 3. Explore New Places or Experiences Whether it's visiting a new town or city, trying out a new restaurant, or indulging in a hobby you've been curious about, exploring new experiences can significantly refresh your outlook. 4. Allocate Time for Relaxation and Self-Care Make sure to allocate specific times for relaxation and self-care activities. This can range from reading a book, taking long baths, meditating, or getting a massage. 5. Reflect and Plan Use this time not only to relax but also to reflect on your personal and professional life. Consider what you’re happy with and areas you might want to change or improve upon. Setting goals for the future during this time can be give you something to look forward to.

Ramadan Kareem, Muslims from all over the world fast from dawn to dusk daily during the Ramadan Month. ‘Suhoor’ is the first meal of the day which is taken before dawn. During the fast drinking, eating, smoking and sexual intercourse is strictly prohibited. Abusive behaviour or impure thoughts are also prohibited. Muslims can work as usual performing their daily activities. During each day doing some special prayers and going to mosques is important. All followers of Islam can fast who have hit puberty and are healthy. Elderly, sick, travellers, and pregnant women are exempted from fasting. With a meal called ‘Iftar’ the fast is broken each day. All family members and friends join to break the fast at Iftar. Cultural differences can be seen in the type of food. There are many lessons that can be learned by keeping fast. Reading the holy book Quran is a must in Ramadan. Charity and helping the less fortunate is essential in Ramadan. Social gatherings are necessary after the daily fast in Ramadan.
Ramadan Mubarak to all those celebrating! 🌙 We wish you a month filled with blessings.

Lessons in Resilience: Learnings from the UAE's Flood Response 📝 The UAE's recent encounter with record-breaking floods serves as a powerful case study in building disaster resilience. Here are some crucial lessons we can learn: • Foresight is Forearmed: Strong emphasis on pre-disaster planning and preparedness, including infrastructure development and public awareness campaigns, can significantly mitigate the impact of future extreme weather events. • Collaboration is Key: A well-coordinated response plan involving all government agencies and emergency services is essential for swift and effective disaster management. • Invest in Resilience: Investing in infrastructure designed to withstand floods minimizes damage and ensures a faster recovery process.

Being valuable has always been about becoming the embodiment of what changes your life and the life of others around you. It takes time and that’s what most of us don’t intend to do. In fact, it’s a process you need to go through to refine yourself and there’s no end to being yourself— that’s becoming the become. You don’t become valuable by just saying you are but the solutions you provide and satisfaction you get from doing YOU.

As we embarked on the sacred month of Ramadan, I found myself contemplating the deeper significance of this period beyond its cultural and religious observances. Ramadan, for many of us, isn't just a month of fasting from dawn to dusk; it's a time for introspection, self-discipline, and compassion. During this period, Muslims around the world fasted as a means of spiritual cleansing and self-discipline, abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs during daylight hours. But beyond the physical aspect, Ramadan is about nourishing the soul, cultivating empathy, and strengthening bonds within our communities. I believe one of the fundamental teachings of Ramadan is the importance of generosity and charity. The act of giving, whether it's through providing meals to those less fortunate, donating to charitable causes, or simply offering a helping hand to those in need, lies at the heart of this holy month. It's a time to recognize our blessings and share them with others, fostering a spirit of empathy and solidarity. Moreover, Ramadan serves as a reminder of the value of time and the fleeting nature of life. By abstaining from worldly pleasures and dedicating ourselves to prayer, reflection, and acts of kindness, we gain a deeper appreciation for the moments we often take for granted. It's a time to slow down, reconnect with our spirituality, and realign our priorities. And spending a holiday like Ramadan isn't just about fulfilling religious obligations; it's about embodying its teachings in our everyday lives. It's about being mindful of our actions, fostering unity and understanding, and striving to make a positive difference in the world around us. Whether we observe Ramadan or not, its message of compassion, humility, and gratitude resonates universally. As we are about to end this blessed period , let ourselves embrace its teachings wholeheartedly and strive to embody its values not only during Ramadan but throughout the year. I wish this Ramadan would be a month of spiritual renewal, growth, and abundant blessings for all: A time for generosity. Ramadan Mubarak / Blessed Eid al-Fitr to all those observing this sacred month! 🌙✨ #ramadan #sacredmonth #renewal #growth #generosity #unity #blessed #compassion #humility
