Exciting things happened in 2023-4. Millions of people benefited from cheaper bus travel, thanks to the cap on fares that we campaigned for. In beleaguered rural areas, bus fares fell at last, by an average of 11 per cent. Bus routes were saved, and new rail stations opened. And after the drastic downturn of the pandemic, people returned to public transport in their droves. As we publish our 2023-4 impact report, we are deeply grateful for the visionary support of those trusts and foundations, corporations and individuals who recognise the vital importance of transport in all our lives. Our work would not be possible without them. In particular, the massive boost that a three-year grant from the Foundation for Integrated Transport has brought to the charity has been truly transformative. We hope you enjoy reading about what we achieved in 2023-4. There is much work still to do, but together, we can give sustainable transport a bright future.
