Continuing with our support of #worldmentalhealthday, on this Day 3 we are discussing SCHIZOPHRENIA 💙 Schizophrenia is a complicated mental health problem related to psychosis. Even mental health professionals don't all agree on this. 1 in every 100 people will get this diagnosis at some point in their life. Views on schizophrenia have changed over the years, but a diagnosis is given if you experience symptoms like psychosis (hallucinations or delusions), disorientated thinking and speech, feeling disconnected from your feelings, difficulty concentrating, wanting to avoid people, a lack of interest in things, or not wanting to look after yourself. 💑 Focusing on helping an individual manage symptoms and meeting specific needs is person centered care. The most important thing is to talk openly about feelings and lifting the lid on any mental health taboos. 💖 Be safe. Be happy. Be you!
