I learned a new word: bumfuzzle. 🙃 A couple of weeks ago I was approached by Yusuf Latief of Smart Energy International who had carefully read our joint NORD/LB - Themis Foresight study on #futures of the #European #capital #market. His questions on our report were an excellent #opportunitiy to flesh out in more detail why capital flows so slowly into energy transition in Europe as opposed to more performing capital markets in other parts of the world. The issue is not a lack of capital but structural difficulties. Banks are slow by #regulatory definition. And the #assetmanagement #industry is nervous about the regulatory Swiss Cheese that the European capital market currently represents.
