One of the hardest decisions I ever made was leaving OtterBox. I had worked tirelessly to build a wonderful career, a high-performing team, and I had climbed that proverbial ladder. But for some reason, I had this pull, almost a calling, to do something more. In 2012, I officially made the leap to start my own marketing and PR agency, WildRock Public Relations & Marketing. Despite so many successes, my journey was often marked (and still is) by setbacks and sometimes feeling so alone with my aspirations. Like you, I’ve done “all the things” to continue to level up: ✅ Attended business retreats and conferences where I networked the heck out of the room - only to be left exhausted and overwhelmed without tangible outcomes. ✅ Joined groups for professionals to help me navigate the complexities of life as a career woman but found it was never packaged to address both the business and personal sides of our lives. It was simply one or the other. ✅ Read all of the books and listened to the right podcasts in my “free-time” to figure out what was next, but had nobody to bounce ideas off of or a plan for what to do with the information I had gathered. Does any of this sound familiar? Not being able to find the community, helpful resources and space to think made me realize that other women might be feeling the same way, and I made it my life’s passion to support others in ways I had always dreamed of finding. Great Digital Deployment Team Meeting at Parklands! Last Wednesday was a blast as our Digital Deployment team gathered at Parklands for an incredible day filled with collaboration, learning, and lots of laughs! Highlights of the Day: Fun Icebreaker: We started with a hilarious icebreaker that had everyone laughing and set the perfect tone for the day. It's amazing what a little fun can do to bring a team closer together! Role Understanding: As we are a new team we spent quality time learning about each other's roles, diving into the daily tasks and responsibilities that make our team function seamlessly. It was eye-opening to see the diverse skills and efforts that each member brings to the table. Celebrating Achievements: Project Milestones: We celebrated the successful completion of key projects, highlighting the dedication and hard work of every team member. Innovation: We recognized the innovative solutions and creative problem-solving approaches that have propelled our projects forward. Team Growth: We acknowledged the personal and professional growth within our team, including new skills acquired and the strengthening of our collaborative spirit. Taskmaster Team-Building Game: The Taskmaster-style activities not only sparked our creativity but also highlighted the power of our collaboration. It was amazing to see how effectively we can work together to overcome challenges and achieve common goals. The Trophy: To top it all off, we awarded a trophy to the individual who excelled completing the Tasks A huge shout-out to everyone for their enthusiasm and participation. Culture at #Vincular and its importance for me Reflecting on my 12-year journey in building Vincular, I realize how much I've learned and still learning. Running a business is vastly different from working in a large corporation. In a startup, you are involved in various functions, from billing to customs, and you learn how to manage and grow a business. This experience has made me more responsible and has given me a broader perspective on not just business but also how to lead a fulfilling life. My corporate career taught me the importance of clear communication and mutual respect in the workplace. This helped me understand the value of workplace culture and influenced how we shaped the culture in the organisation.
