Have you ever wondered how the dragons in Game of Thrones are brought to life? Or how a Sci-Fi Space station scene is created? In our latest video, we explore the rendering algorithm inside Computer Generated Images [CGI] and how the ray tracing algorithm creates realistic lighting and brings 3D scenes to life.

Wait, can you even calculate missing volumes underwater? The magic is when you know how to lose banana effect. In underwater photogrammetry, the banana effect—also known as the bowl or bending effect—refers to a distortion where the reconstructed 3D model appears unnaturally curved or bent, resembling the shape of a banana. This issue is particularly prevalent in underwater environments due to factors such as light refraction, camera calibration errors, and the challenging conditions inherent to underwater imaging.

HGS1 animated video of the Historic Commercial Double Lunar Flyby Rescue Mission on its 26th anniversary. Shout Outs to: Hughes Global Services, HGS, management for their courage to sponsor the mission; Analytical Graphics Inc., AGI, whose Satellite Toolkit, STK, was essential for planning the mission and whose graphical expertise allowed the world to follow the mission in real time on the internet; Van Martin Systems Inc., whose Microcosm software assimilated all types of orbital data from contributors around the world to tell us where we were at any time; and to the dozens of in house Hughes volunteers and contract personnel from all subsystems who flawlessly executed the 60 maneuvers required over the 69 day saga. The 6.5 minute animated video can be viewed in 3 segments for your choice 1) The 1st lunar flyby maneuvers/trajectory (~2,5 min) 2) Visual of the 2nd lunar flyby and the 2nd lunar flyby trajectory (~1.5 min) 3) Trajectory of the complete double lunar flyby (2 viewing angles,~2.5 min) 💌

"Distributed #Radar Imaging: We use a cluster of radar #cubesats – working together in tandem – to collect images of the same location from multiple angles simultaneously. This diversity of perspective enables us to create high-resolution #3D #imagery from a single pass." Multistatic radar and standard camouflage solutions technologies... one of them is decades ahead... https://lnkd.in/eZQU-rjs

👽 "Check out this marvelous map visualization of UFO sightings! The dataset used contains over 80,000 records of UFO sightings from the past century—between 1910 and 2014, meticulously collected by The National UFO Reporting Center. The timeline includes notable events like Orson Welles' broadcast of 'War of the Worlds' in 1938 and the 1947 Roswell UFO Incident, both of which are followed by a spike in sightings. The map reflects unidentified aerial phenomena that cannot be immediately explained or identified. The map was created using Esri's ArcGIS Pro, Cinema 4D, X-Particles, Cycles4D, and Adobe After Effects. The National UFO Reporting Center was utilized as the data source. Music: 'Rhea' by Yehezkel Raz." Source: Esri, Youtube #DataVisualization #DataScience #Visualization #Mapping

SAR Technology Terminology (Part 1) 📚 Learn About SAR Technology Terminology! 📚 In yesterday’s post, we discussed some terms related to SAR technology. Here’s a simplified explanation of some of the key terms that help us understand this advanced technology: 1. Layover Effect: A distortion in SAR images that occurs when elevation data from tall objects (like skyscrapers) overlaps, making them appear merged with other objects. 2. Image Distortion: Refers to the noise caused by the method of collecting radar data and projecting it onto images, which is entirely different from traditional photographic imaging. 3. 50 cm Resolution: The resolution allowed commercially for SAR technology, capable of detecting objects like ships and aircraft but not detailed features like license plates or individuals. 4. Privacy-Friendly SAR: A technology that follows strict regulations . Stay tuned for Part 2 to learn more key terms! #tech #earth #vision2030 #earthObservation #satelliteimagery #SpaceTechnology #Innovation #sar #Space

Off Nadir Angle (ONA) plays a crucial role in the quality of optical satellite imagery. 🛰️ It influences its resolution and clarity, decides the visibility of features, and makes it easier or harder to identify objects. Moreover, ONA is used to create stereo imagery and 3D models of the Earth’s surface. Read on to learn more. ⬇️ Satellite Imagery © 2024 Maxar Technologies Provided by European Space Imaging #satelliteimagery #remotesensing #earthobservation #spacetechnology

📷 Exciting developments in my computer vision journey!I've been diving deep into reverse image formation. With the camera matrix, I've successfully mapped 2D images back to their real-world coordinates. Now, I'm taking it a step further—predicting projectile paths in 3D space! 🚀 This is still a fresh approach for me, but the possibilities are endless. Imagine accurately predicting the trajectory of objects in real-time using #ComputerVision and #YOLO. Stay tuned for more updates as I refine this technique! https://lnkd.in/g4pTp9Cf

To a #hyperspectral camera, what we call Red is about 130 shades of Red at various strengths. The ability to measure this from space allows you to tell which factory a Red car came from based on the different colors of Red it is, which are imperceptible to human eyes. Quite amazing stuff this "Bar Code" reader from space can do! 🤯 Get your answers from #Hyperspectral imagery at SkyFi
