Prioritize Direction Over Speed in Your Pharmacy Career 🧭💊 In healthcare, moving fast can sometimes mean moving in the wrong direction. Professionals often feel compelled to sprint forward, taking on new roles, responsibilities, or specializations in an attempt to accelerate their careers. However, this rush can lead to missteps and unintended consequences. 🔹 Speed vs. Precision: Rapid career advancement can be thrilling, but without a clear direction, it may lead to roles that clash with your fundamental strengths and values, risking job dissatisfaction and burnout. 🔹 Strategic Slowing: Deliberately evaluating career paths and aligning them with your goals and the healthcare landscape is essential. This strategic approach ensures that when you do pick up speed, it’s in the right direction, leading to rewarding and meaningful work. 🔹 Consultative Approaches: Utilizing frameworks like those offered by Swenson Pharmacy Advisors (SPA) can be transformative. By partnering with you in a collaborative environment, we design a strategic plan that prioritizes quality and fit over speed, ensuring every step forward is both thoughtful and effective. In healthcare, as in many areas of life, the adage "slow and steady wins the race" often holds true. By focusing on direction first and speed second, professionals can avoid the pitfalls of rapid but misguided advancement, ensuring their career moves them towards genuine satisfaction and success. #Healthcare #Pharmacy #PharmacyCareers #CareerAdvice #ProfessionalDevelopment #Entrepreneurship

Please don't join any company that keeps prolonging your hiring process. At the same time also doesn't let you go. I have had this bad experience, that too not too long ago. As naïve as I was I waited for 8 months for the job to start. Imagine! I have gone through everything. You name it and I have experienced it. Which is why I understand your pain, I understand what you are going through. I have observed that by the time you reach mid-career stage, you generally tend to figure things out. It's mostly the early-career stage that is the most difficult, you are clueless with no sense of direction. That is why I have made it my mission to now guide early-career Health care and Pharma professionals so that you don't waste precious years of your life, just like I did. ----------- If you are someone who is experiencing similar ups and downs while trying to figure out your life and career, I am here to help you. How would you describe your skills and abilities in universal terms that anyone could understand? List them out and include them all as if someone other than a health professional was reading them. Notice how much value you really offer. Now, map it against a role you want. Analyse the gap and strategise how to fill the gap. And you are on your way. 🎯 I was Job hopping looking for my happy place and realized that there was no “ happy place” ‼️ The last 5 years I have been jumping from one job to another to another in medicine looking to find my “happy place” realizing eventually that I simply wasn’t happy and that a “job” just wasn’t going to work for me any longer … Why ? - Lack of flexibility of my time - Boredom - Toxicity in a company - Poor management - Lack of feeling valued in my efforts And various other reasons ….. The turning point for me came when the light bulb went off in my head 💡 I have a ton of experience in a particular field ….why can’t I pivot to consulting in some way ?!?! And thus my journey began…. ⭐️ Key points I looked at when pivoting ….. - what do I enjoy about my job - what do I not enjoy - what do I feel I’m good at - what am I praised for at work by bosses or coworkers. - what aspects of my job would I like to explore more if I had the opportunity to. This was pretty much the starting point for me …. Are you looking to pivot your experience ????? Would love to hear why?! ⭐️ I stepped away from a medical corporate job by choice with no salaried income now to create space in my day to really try and figure out what’s next in my career and to see if I can create income with more flexibility in my day. Follow me on this journey of self realization and self discovery in my career and maybe yours.👍 #pivotcareer #medicalconsulting #freedomfromninetofive #youcanpivot #careerpivot #medicalcorporate

‘What is the point?’ Part 2 1. Limited Career Growth and Recognition: You may feel stuck if there are few opportunities for advancement or professional growth. In fact, senior clinicians increasingly feel they have to suck it up and take on more roles for the same or less. Even if there are paths for ‘promotion’, the current healthcare environments lack mechanisms to recognise and reward individual contributions. leading to a sense of stagnation. 2. Emotional Toll of Patient Care: The constant exposure to suffering, loss was something clinicians accepted as part and parcel of their careers. However, the additional pressures of managing lack of service capacity for patients who need life saving or life changing intervention-or-death situations is uniquely taxing. Over time, you may feel emotionally exhausted and disconnected from the initial passion that drew them to the profession. 3. Misalignment with Institutional Values: Many of you entered with a strong sense of purpose, only to find that your organisation's priorities (such as patient throughput, or cost control) don’t align with your view patient-centered care. in fact: it is diametrically opposed to your own values. This clash can cause you intense frustration and ultimately: a loss of purpose. This is what you talk about over coffees and in corridors; when you contact me via LI or email. You are not alone. What is the point FOR YOU? How can YOU craft a sustainable, varied, fulfilling career? DM me to start a conversation.
