This street photography exploration or as my Professor, Sir Anirban Dutta Gupta mentioned - an ethno-photographic narrative - was one of the most interesting assignment of the entire module. For this, we had to find a key character, who is 'making' or 'creating' something to make their ends meet and had to explore the various aspects of their life in a duration of three day. The task was to capture and select those few photographs than can pretty much sum up to narrate their life around their work. Here are a few of the many photographs. https://lnkd.in/gxwF_FQP

Let's talk about three overarching factors that determine the value of a photograph. When you're thinking about buying a photograph and asking yourself “is this a good investment?” make sure that you have an understanding of the following things: 📌 1. Where the Artist fits within the History of Photography and how they contributed to pushing the medium forward 📌 2. Where the image fits within the arc of the photographer's career and within the particular body of work 📌 3. The history & condition of the photographic object itself ➡️ Like if you learned something valuable from this post! #collecting #fineartphotography #investing

Still time to register for the NAPARS online photography presentation this Friday! Since it's a Zoom presentation, there's no limit to the number of attendees. From 12:00 noon to 2:00p EDT on Friday, May 31, 2024, I'll be sharing an online presentation for NAPARS on how using tripods, polarizers, and flashes will elevate your wreck site, vehicle, and component photographs. You'll see plenty of before and after examples to demonstrate just how powerful those three tools are by themselves, and even more so when used together. Any professional can easily use these tools to make consistent, professional, and useful photographs for reports and exhibits for clients, attorneys, judges, and juries. It's free for NAPARS members and only $5 for non-members! Of course, there will be ACTAR credits. https://lnkd.in/eNgCrHjw #NAPARS #forensicphotography #accidentreconstruction #accidentreconphotography #photography

#WorldPhotographyDay (August 19th, 2024) The World Photo Day is an annual, worldwide celebration of the art, craft, science and history of photography. Photography changed our vision of the world, capturing people and places in real time. But with the passing of time, some photographs fade. See how an image may be recovered using the power of an M4 TORNADO especially configured to meet the needs of this heavily faded and damaged historical photograph. The silver X-ray map is able to reproduce the faded portions of the image, while the distribution of iodine in the photograph may provide clues about why this image faded over time. I have been experimenting with third-person perspective photography and there's no comparison IMO. Don't get me wrong, first-person perspective has its place, but with chest and head cams gaining in popularity I find the first-person view is becoming mundane. Recent research published in the Journal of Social Psychological and Personality Science revealed how the perspective of photography (first-person or third-person) is determined by what the person wants to capture from the moment. The study, led by Zachary Niese from the University of Tübingen, found that individuals tend to take first-person photos when they want to document a physical experience. In contrast, third-person photos are often used to capture the deeper significance of an event. I find this to be 100% true. I made a trip down to the lake and found some bass feeding along the mixing line. Clean run-off water was draining from a culvert beneath the road. This third-person shot explains a lot without saying any more. #keithlusher #outdoorphotography #photography

The word Photography literally means 'drawing with light'. Photography is indeed an art form, if not solely from the fact that it inspires creativity and passion. This images has a deep creation of multiple elements like nature the fisherman and the black and white colour contrast in it. The photo indeed tells us a clear cut story just looking at it … National Geographic Society National Geographic Adobe Canon Industrial Asia Sony #sonyalpha #sonyphotography #nationalgeographic #naturephotography #storytelling #storyteller
