As recruiters, we've seen first-hand how longevity changes not just career paths but our whole approach to work. From the Silent Generation to Gen Z, we now have five different age groups enriching the workplace with their diverse experiences and skills. 2024 is coming to an end, and it’s the perfect time to reflect & plan for 2025. In my conversations with mid-sized companies this year, three big challenges kept coming up: 1️⃣ Hiring is still tough: Finding great talent at the right cost remains a struggle. Companies sticking to traditional methods like job boards or referrals often face delays and limited candidate pools. Planning better hiring strategies will be key in the new year. 2️⃣ Employer branding gets ignored: Most companies focus on branding their products but forget how they’re perceived as employers. With a solid employer branding plan, you can attract and retain top talent instead of losing them to competitors. 3️⃣ Upskilling isn’t happening enough: We all know upskilling is key, but few companies have clear plans to make it happen.
