Congressman John Lewis wanted us to be involved in the democratic process. He fought for the right to vote. He fought to expand voting rights. But the “right” to vote isn’t enough. Even “voting” isn’t enough. “Informed activism requires reading the newspaper, tracking bills…and watching legislative debates on C-SPAN. It also means learning which legislators on all levels sit on committees that affect your issue.” He would have wanted us to stay informed and actively involved before and after Election Day. #MondayMotivation #CSPAN #Congress #InformedVoter #InformedActivism #JohnLewisQuote #JohnLewis

Reflecting on history: In 2013, the Shelby County v. Holder decision reshaped voting rights in America. With Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act deemed unconstitutional, states gained autonomy over election changes, sparking debates on voter ID laws, polling station closures, and more. Understanding our past is key to shaping our future. #VotingRights #ShelbyCountyDecision

Voter suppression exists all around us, which is only part of why having the ability to vote is such a powerful privilege. 💪 The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act seeks stop suppression practices and protect all groups and their right to vote on a federal level, but it's been stuck in Congress for too long. You can advocate for this important piece of legislation by contacting your elected officials! Learn more and take action: https://heyor.ca/tHb3kd #IGNITEtheVote

Part Four about Worth Fighting For: Why Indivisible.org Stands as the Last Line of Defense Against Trump 2.0 (aka Project 2025) Targeting Voter Suppression and Gerrymandering Indivisible doesn’t sugarcoat the road ahead. They know the game is rigged in many places and that systemic obstacles like voter suppression and gerrymandering are shaping the electoral landscape. But they’re also committed to pushing back, using a two-pronged strategy that includes supporting federal legislation to protect voting rights and working at the local level to ensure fair redistricting. With laws being crafted to restrict access to the polls, Indivisible’s strategy is adamant about protecting our right to vote by any means necessary. Their vision is simple yet powerful: to make voting accessible for every American, especially those who are often marginalized in the political process. Their focus on battling gerrymandering is just as crucial. Indivisible’s approach recognizes that a fair map means fair representation—and a fair shot at real change. #Indivisible Indivisible.org
