The research results put into practice influence our daily lives and move us forward. It's why technology transfer is one of the key points of the Brnoregion Microscopy mission. I love to start a workday by having a lively discussion about how to support #technologytransfer. By the way, we are not a closed group. So, if you are interested in this topic and occasionally want to start the day by having a hot discussion, get in touch. :-) #marketeramongphysicists #community
The transfer of research results into real life is one of the key points of the Brnoregion Microscopy mission. And so the discussion at this morning's commercialisation workshop is very lively. Do you have an idea for commercialisation or like to get involved? Let us know! 🚀

🚀 Low-loss silicon nitride #photonics with efficient gratings and super-fast barium titanate modulators? Check out the #cleo2024 contributions from Manuel Kohli and colleagues!
Starting an exciting week at CLEO in Charlotte, where I will be presenting on two topics. If you happen to be here, check out my talk on grating couplers for silicon nitride photonics tomorrow morning (SM1I.2 room W207BC) at 08:30. I'm also excited to share that my second talk, which is on BTO-on-SiN plasmonics, has been upgraded to an highlighted talk. It will take place on Wednesday at 17:00 (SW4R.4 in room W211). In that work we explore BTO in a low-loss racetrack modulator for the O-band reaching 200 GBd.

I was thrilled to present our recent work on the „Experimental Investigation of Fast-Charging Protocols using Multilayer Pouch Cells with Silicon-Dominant Anodes over Aging“ at the PRiME 2024 Meeting last week from the ECS - The Electrochemical Society in Honolulu, US! 🔋It was just amazing to discuss similar topics and approaches in person within this international community. Here are my three (personal) takeaways: 1) Everywhere in the world, funding is further intensified (especially in the US), except for Germany. 2) Silicon is highly investigated as anode active material, from single-digit wt% to pure silicon approaches. 3) Fast-charging is electrochemically and thermally challenging - but there are still many ways on material, cell, and battery level to improve. Many thanks to my co-authors: Johannes Mährlein, Axel Durdel, and Prof. Andreas Jossen. If you are interested to discuss the topic, don’t hesitate to contact me, we are happy to share our insights and get your feedback! Stay tuned for the upcoming publications🧑🏼💻

Resolvent at: "Nordic Regional Battery Visit April 9-10th 2024 in Mariestad/Skövde" I just returned after two exciting days at The Nordic Regional Battery Visit in Mariestad/Skövde. Thank you for all the exciting presentations and conversations. Resolvent was present with a stand, posters and quick pitch on how to gain a competitive advantage! Resolvent's main technical point at this conference is that we can offer multi physical simulation models of battery systems. By including the different degradation mechanisms deep technical understanding is gained. This is key to optimization of the design, production processes and operating conditions. Optimal performance (e.g. lifetime) and limited resource usage result in a competitive advantage.

In our latest publication on Technological Forecasting & Social Change, Mathilde Aubry and I studied the dynamics and challenges of vertical cooperation in the R&D programs in the semiconductor industry. Applying a two-stage game theory model, we argue that the cross-cost sharing mechanism contributes to the stability of vertical cooperation and reduces the risk of agreement deviation in the context of technological and market uncertainties of the semiconductor industry.
