I am pleased to share that last July I completed the NanoLab: Micro and Nanofabrication course, part of the Monterrey Tec-MIT Nanotechnology program. During the course, I explored advanced topics such as solar cells, microelectromechanical systems, microfluidics, and photolithography, key areas of nanotechnology. The most rewarding part was applying the knowledge acquired in my Nanotechnology Engineering degree and seeing how it is used in a world-class laboratory like MIT. This experience helped bridge theory with real-world applications that can have a tangible impact.

We've got some exciting research in the field of nanotechnology to share with you! 🌟   Take a look at the latest paper by Marion Görke, Sherif Okeil, Dirk Menzel, Bogdan Semenenko, Dr. rer. nat., and Georg Garnweitner. It's called "Tuning the Properties of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles in Thermal Decomposition Synthesis". This study looks closely at how things like reaction temperature, ligand length, and concentration affect the properties of iron oxide nanoparticles - key for applications in biomedical diagnostics, environmental remediation, and data storage.   Key Findings: 🔬 Impact of reaction temperature and ligand variations. 🔬 Extensive characterization using TEM, XRD, and SQUID magnetometry. 🔬 Insights into achieving high colloidal stability and redispersibility. 🔬 The role of crystallinity in magnetic properties. 🔬 Importance of reaction temperature in tailoring nanoparticle properties.   This research demonstrates the importance of considering factors such as reaction temperature and choice of ligand to achieve nanoparticles with specific properties suited for various applications. The findings from this study provide a robust foundation for advancing the engineering of functional magnetic nanoparticles, marking a significant step forward in nanotechnology.
