RTDs continue to shine In 2023, RTDs were the star of the global beverage alcohol market – the only major category to record volume growth (+2%), alongside a strong +6% uptick in value. This growth is expected to continue, with both volume and value forecast to grow at a CAGR of +3% between 2023 and 2028. As they expand, RTDs are becoming more sophisticated (like us: Thomas Ashbourne Craft Spirits): cocktails (😉🎩) and long drinks are continuing to take share as consumers explore more premium options (👋) , as well as seeking more affordable (👋) and convenient alternatives (👋) to traditional beverage alcohol categories. The IWSR's latest data reveals that no- and low-alcohol drinks are thriving in the UK, even as the overall alcohol market declines. While the total beverage alcohol market is expected to see a -1% CAGR decline over the next five years, the no- and low-alcohol segment grew by 47% from 2022 to 2023 and is projected to grow at a +19% CAGR through 2028. Key drivers include a consumer trend towards moderation and changes in excise duties. Low-alcohol beer, in particular, has seen significant growth, nearly doubling in sales last year. As the market shifts, this segment is expected to add £0.8bn in value by 2028. #ConsumerTrends #Beverage #Innovation #NOLO https://lnkd.in/gASdgjaA

#alcohol #valiantglass #trends Global Low/No Alcohol Market Trends in 2024! The world's leading alcohol beverage data research organization, shows that the sales volume of the no/low alcohol category is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 6% between 2023 and 2027. This actually represents more modest growth than in past years, but is typical of an increasingly mature market. However, the survey data also shows that there are large differences between different market segments. Growth slowed, but strong growth is expected in the next few years. No alcohol, low alcohol Non-alcoholic beverages have proven to be a much larger market, both in terms of size and growth potential: they now account for two-thirds of all no/low alcohol beverage sales. Of these, beer and cider account for the largest share: 72%. The non-alcoholic beverages will continue to take share from traditional alcoholic beverages: by 2027, non-alcoholic beverages are expected to account for nearly 4% of total alcoholic beverage volume in the top ten markets. However, it would be a mistake to interpret this as a direct consumer preference to abstain from alcohol. Rather than abstaining from alcohol altogether, people may increasingly seek to switch between no/low alcohol products and full alcohol beverages. It looks like hard times are ahead for the alcohol beverage industry. Even in the USA, 2023 showed a decline in sales (for the first time in decades). This is partly explained by the post-COVID correction and partly by the readjustment of the inflation-hit household budgets. A slight growth is forecasted in the period till 2028, which will not however be coming from Europe. The categories suffering the most are single malt whisky and brandy including cognac. #drinks #drinksindustry #beverages #alcohol #spirits #markets #sales #forecasts https://lnkd.in/dZFgX2Nr

Former multi-site venue owner now CEO/ Founder @Peiso | President AWCC
5moFrom an Australian POV, per person has been declining since the 1970s. Growth is purely linked to population growth. For beer, the competitor is amongst other beers, or even non-alcs, its spirits (strangely). Because once a consumer in a venue has a vodka, gin etc they don’t go back to beer.
