What did we do at our Team Offsite? Here's a glimpse - 1. Networking: Our Sales, Training, and Support teams joined forces to strengthen our collaboration, because we hardly get a chance to meet during our travel. 2. Trying a new Team Activity: We dove into a unique activity blending sustainability and tech. Because after all, our internal team gets the first chance to experience our cutting edge programs. 3. Getting Active and Competitive: Sports aren't just for fun (though we had loads of that!). They reveal our true selves and foster camaraderie like nothing else can. And that's why we picked up Olympics challenge. 4. Reaffirming Our Core Values: Taking time to revisit and reaffirm them was a reminder of our unique identity. Because that's our differentiator. Our offsite wasn't just about escaping the office—it was about strengthening bonds, fostering growth, and recharging our collective spirit. Here's to more adventures ahead! 🎉 #OffsiteAdventure #TeamBuilding #FutureSuccess

How About… Leveling Up Team Bonding with Friendly Competition? An element I try to incorporate into all of my events is a little healthy (friendly) competition, as it can be the secret sauce to creating stronger connections. Think about it: it gets everyone out of their comfort zones, pushing them to work together and have some fun in the process. It's like playing a board game with friends – everyone's giving it their all, cheering each other on (even if they secretly want to win!), and ultimately having a blast together. Picture an offsite with your team competing in a scavenger hunt, company Olympics, sailing regatta, or even a miniature golf tournament where the friendly competition isn't about crushing the other team; it's about building camaraderie and celebrating each other's strengths. People discover hidden talents, bond over shared experiences, and learn to laugh together. Recognize everyone's contributions, big or small, because at the end of the day, you're one team working towards a common goal. So next time you're planning a team bonding activity, embrace a little friendly competition! You'll be surprised at how much closer your team becomes, and how much more fun you have along the way. After all, a little playful competition can spark a whole lot of team spirit and lasting memories. What are your favorite ways to incorporate friendly competition into your team bonding activities? Tomorrow, we are stepping away from our usual day-to-day activities to participate in a company sports day. This event is about far more than fun and games; such team away days play a crucial role in our success. Teamwork Across Departments: Beyond our individual roles, these company away days encourage cross-team collaboration. By working together outside our usual projects, we are building stronger connections and enhancing communication. Better teamwork leads to better performance overall. Welcoming New Faces: Over the past 12 months we have had a number of new employees join us. This sports day provides a fantastic opportunity for everyone to get better acquainted, strengthening our bonds. Celebrating Hard Work: This day allows us to acknowledge our collective efforts. Recognising our accomplishments boosts motivation and morale, reminding us what we can achieve together. Friendly Competition: A little healthy competition never hurt anyone! Whether it’s a tug-of-war or a relay race, friendly challenges can increase productivity and inject energy into our work. These away days aren’t just about fun—they’re about building a stronger, resilient and more connected team. 🤝🏆🌟 #companyawayday #sportsday #ourpeopleyourexperts

✍ 'Step into the zone of awkward team building and tough presentations – they do pay off' | Writes Helena Morrissey I recently surprised everyone who knows me by joining in an indoor skydiving “team-building” #activity at a company I chair. I should clarify that the indoor version is nothing like actual skydiving – instead of leaping from a plane, I hovered a mere few feet off the ground in a wind tunnel, aided by an instructor. Even so, I was well beyond my comfort zone, nervous about making a complete idiot of myself, especially in front of 25 #colleagues – most of whom I’d only met earlier the same day. But I am so glad I did it. My technique was lousy, but the satisfaction of overcoming my fear, combined with bonding with new (and in some cases, equally terrified) colleagues outweighed any embarrassment. #TeamBuilding antics aside, we need to be willing to step outside our comfort zone at work if we’re to #progress in our careers, whether we’re in our 20s or 50s. No one can really improve by staying cosy and comfortable – we need to explore and take risks, pushing out our (often self-imposed) boundaries. Read more 👇 https://lnkd.in/emXy4sFq

If we take a moment to look, signs of collaboration inspiration, and team work are all around us. This weekend, I had the opportunity to attend the Varsity Spirit All-star Summit event, and I have to say it was incredible. Not only did we see some phenomenal talent, we saw cheer teams watching and encouraging their competitors during practice, we saw amazing sportsmanship displayed by teams who were competing with each other. We saw signs of outstanding team work. One of the most impressive things I saw was when a team’s routine did not go as planned, and how the team did not blame each other, but supported each other in how to get better, focusing on things to improve. Whether you are a fan of the Cheer Leading sport or not, many of these lessons can be brought back to the workplace. We can learn from this event how to celebrate each other’s successes, how to support one another in times of difficulty or when projects or tasks come up short. We can learn how to support others who may be in competition with us for a job, a project, or funding. I know many reading this may have a vision in their mind when I mention a Cheer Leading competition, but what I saw was a ton of lessons we can learn, and bring back to our corporate environments to enhance culture and drive greater success.

Sharing is caring! That's why today, I wanted to share a great idea to keep your team engaged, even when you're all working from home. ⭐ 📣 Choose a Monthly Theme: Pick a theme based on what’s celebrated in your location. For example, we organized a kite contest because August in Bogotá, Colombia, is known for its windy weekends, perfect for flying kites—a beloved family activity here! 💡 Get Everyone Involved: Encourage activities that can be enjoyed with family. It’s a great way to connect on a personal level and add value to everyone’s time. 💰 Offer Prizes: Incentivize participation with fun rewards. It’s a simple way to boost engagement! 🌅 These contests not only foster team engagement but also inspire creativity and innovation. Let’s keep our teams connected and motivated! 🎉 Connext #connextthebest #connext #HRactivities

Ready to Build a Stronger, More Connected Team? This past weekend, Gloves For Africa, founded by Chuks Uwaechia, had the incredible privilege of organizing a unique team bonding experience for Periwinkle Residences Limited. Using boxing as our vehicle, we brought colleagues closer together in an unforgettable and powerful way. As Africa’s premier luxury real estate brand, Periwinkle Residences Limited values teamwork and collaboration at every level of its organization. For them, the workplace isn’t just a job site—it’s a thriving, connected community. This weekend, from the chairman Dr. Chiedu Nweke to every team member, they stepped out as one family, breaking down traditional barriers and embodying a spirit of unity that was truly inspiring to witness. The most striking part of the experience? Seeing everyone working side by side, free from hierarchy and title. In that shared space, there was only purpose, mutual respect, and a collective commitment to support one another. Through each punch, jab, and sparring session, team members learned to communicate openly, trust deeply, and face challenges together. Boxing is more than a sport; it’s a powerful tool for building resilience, fostering trust, and cultivating empathy. Experiences like these shape a stronger workplace culture by pushing people beyond their comfort zones, creating moments for team members to truly lean on each other. Facing challenges together builds a lasting foundation for collaboration and strengthens bonds that extend far beyond the event. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and brought such positivity to this experience! Let’s carry this spirit of resilience, trust, and teamwork into every project, every interaction, and every future success. If your organization is looking for innovative ways to boost team spirit and cultivate genuine collaboration, we invite you to explore our Team Bonding sessions! Our boxing-centered approach empowers teams to break down barriers, embrace new challenges, and experience the true meaning of teamwork. Let’s build resilient, unified teams together. Visit us at www.glovesforafrica.co.uk or send us a DM to learn more about bringing this unforgettable experience to your workplace! #TeamBonding #CorporateWellness #StrongerTogether #WorkplaceCulture #PeriwinkleEmpire #Leadership #EmployeeEngagement #Resilience #Collaboration
