Mental health cannot be sidelined as an annual talking point, it must be a daily commitment. AMC Services - Fractional People & Culture, we pledge to do better. We will not accept excuses or delays in providing the support needed for mental wellness. Let’s be real: it’s time to check in on our people, show some empathy, and just be decent humans. It shouldn't take a special day to remind us that kindness and understanding go a long way. We need to prioritize mental health every single day, ensuring everyone has access to the care they deserve. At Rheem, we recognise that mental health is a cornerstone of both personal and professional success. We’re committed to supporting the well-being of our team and our wider community through proactive measures. To ensure that everyone has access to the support they need, we’ve trained Mental Health First Aiders who are available to provide assistance whenever it’s needed. Additionally, we’ve implemented mandatory Focus Time twice a week, giving our team the opportunity to recharge and maintain balance in their busy lives. In alignment with NZ Mental Health Awareness Week, we also want to highlight the valuable work of the Mental Health Foundation, which recently conducted research into the effects of Cyclone Gabrielle and other significant weather events on mental health. The findings underscore the importance of community in navigating challenging times. For our wider Plumbing Community, we highly recommend checking out the Master Plumbers, Gasfitters & Drainlayers NZ Inc. Wellbeing on Tap—a fantastic resource designed to offer support and information to help maintain mental health at every stage of life. https://lnkd.in/gX2N8Xir Let’s continue to prioritise mental well-being, support one another, and build a stronger, more resilient community. #RheemNZ #MentalHealthWeek #WellbeingAtWork #SupportEachOther #MasterPlumbers #FocusOnMentalHealth

Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay and this year's theme is meaningful connections matter. In Australia, 1 in 5 people are affected by mental ill-health. Having meaningful connections with others means we're better placed to recognise the signs someone is struggling and check in. The conversation that follows could change a life. Is Your Workplace Ready to Handle a Mental Health Crisis? Mental health, as crucial as physical health, often goes unnoticed in the hustle of our daily jobs, especially in high-stress environments like the financial services sector. A staggering 83% of finance professionals have considered leaving their jobs due to stress-related mental health issues, according to research from MHFA England. At Wise Investment, we prioritise mental wellness by training volunteers to be mental health first aiders. These first aiders are equipped to provide immediate support and guide colleagues to long-term resources, ensuring that no one has to struggle in silence. Have you ever needed support at work during a tough time? How was it handled? Visit the MHFA England® website for more insights and resources on setting up a mental health first aid programme in your workplace. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #MentalHealthAwareness #WorkplaceWellness #MentalHealthInFinance

1 in 3 Sydneysiders have poor mental health. Recent Ipsos polling tells us that 50% of Sydneysiders sometimes or often feel left out, alone and with nobody to talk to – and this is higher for young people, students, renters and stay at home parents. “Nothing short of a complete overhaul of the way Australia thinks and acts on mental health and wellbeing is what is needed. We believe we need to understand the ways in which we organise ourselves as a society that supports good mental health and wellbeing – and do more of it. And we need to be honest with ourselves about what have we come to accept as normal and routine - but which is unnecessarily causing mental harm.” These were the words of Chris Gambian, CEO of Australians for Mental Health, at their launch this week at Admiralty House. It was a great event – hosted by the Governor General in fairly auspicious surrounds! But it’s an even better organisation – and a topic the Committee for Sydney is thinking about the role of Cities in solving. I encourage everyone to check out Australians for Mental Health – and get involved. The workplace is a key setting to improve and support mental health. In mentally healthy workplaces with high levels of wellbeing, people watch out for each other and can ask someone if they’re ok. Managers and teams understand mental health and openly talk about it. Since October 2023, Dual have been active in enrolling our staff in a course covering ‘First Aid for Mental Health’ held by St. John’s. We have been overwhelmed by the positive response from our team, with over 95% of our staff requesting to be involved. With organizations like Beyond Blue, MATES in Construction WA and St. John’s offering help and encouraging conversations about mental health, we will be in a better place to support ourselves and those around us, with self-care being equally important. Mental illness is now the leading cause of sickness absence and long-term work incapacity in Australia with nearly 1 in 5 people experiencing poor mental health each year. Nearly half of us will experience poor mental health during our lives. Poor mental health costs the Australian economy from $12.2 to $22.5 billion each year (according to the Australian Government Productivity Commission). https://lnkd.in/g9Givdh #stjohns #mentalhealth #selfcare #dual #dewhurst #dewhurstgroup #teamdual

🧠Did you know? 1 in 4 adults (in the UK) experience a mental health problem every year. At altavia.uk, we don't just talk about our mental health — we take action to make a difference. We're proud to have St John Ambulance L3 trained Mental Health First Aiders within our team. Their role is to be there when it counts, providing a listening ear, and offering completely confidential support when a colleague needs it most. They’re trained to recognise the signs of a mental health episode and provide early intervention. By being approachable and understanding, they help create a safer, more supportive workplace for everyone.🤝 Mental health is just as important as physical health. Just as everyone has good and bad physical health days, everyone experiences good and bad mental health days. The Mental Health First Aiders work alongside our Wellbeing Team to help colleagues find positive coping strategies for stress, build resilience and support them through stressful periods. We’re very proud to have 7 committed Mental Health First Aiders across various departments in the agency, making sure no one has to face their struggles alone. Thank you for being there Beverley Randell-Eyre, Clare Bowden, Emma Graham, Matt Botterill, Melanie Wills, ⭐ Natalie de Weerd, Pooja Chahar. 💚 #MentalHealthMatters #AltaviaUK #MHFA #MakeADifference #RetailWithHeart
