A freelance leadership specialist helping individuals and organisations realise their potential now for long term gain - generally work in post-16, but can work across sectors.

Can't beleive that it has been 16 months (almost 17) since I was made redundant for the second time in just over two years. This second time was different, I reset myself and decided to become self-employed. I have loved working on different projects and am grateful to #Holex, #FESussex and Sussex Council of Training Providers SCTP for connections and potential projects or work. I am grateful to the Women's Leadership Network (WLN) Affinity Group for accepting me in, and deciding to make me their Chair. I had forgotten how much I love chairing meetings! And the training from Thinking Cultures to include Thinking Environment in my meetings and work has been invaluable. I also want to send out a big thank you and huge appreciation to the JoyFE💛 Collective who has taught me so much and widened my horizons considerably. So grateful to this collective for all they do, and as we celebrated our 4th birthday last week, am raising a glass to the next four years of thinking, reflecting, connecting, friendship, laughter and Joy 💛 . So, the past few years has taught me a lot and this last month I have come to realise I am loving what I am doing. It was a leap of faith, but we really do need to do the things that we love. So here are a few bits of reflection from me: 👩 Have confidence in yourself, and if imposter syndrome ever strikes find ways to talk about those fears and discover ways and strategies to overcome that self-doubt. 💐 🦉 🐞 Connect with nature, get outdoors, walk, sit, contemplate and reflect. There is more connections than just human ones and nature can bring calm and tranquility to our world. 👭 Find ways to connect and network with others. It can be hard, but that sense of community I find is so valuable. 🏃♀️ Stay healthy, find ways that you like to exercise or stay healthy. I am so grateful to being able to run, but recently discovered a love for Pilates, and setting healthy goals through a joyful community. ❤️ Discover your values and ensure you are working to these, so that you love what you are doing. 💛 Find the Joy and do the work on yourself to do the work. Have a great Easter 🐣 , don't eat too much chocolate 🍫 and here is to new beginnings. If you would like to consider a new beginning or think about some strategy development, need someone in an interim role, would like some mentoring or coaching, or facilitation of workshops or training days, then get in touch for a chat.

I am grateful for your leap of faith Helen Osborne MBE. It has led to us meeting and working together Women's Leadership Network (WLN). I have learnt so much from you and I love our sisterhood. Great post and reflections. Thank you

These “few bits of reflection” are gold, Helen. Here’s to finding the joy!
