A great report by Silicon Valley Bank. "Over the last five years, AI deal activity has grown faster in #healthcare than in tech overall. Today, one in four dollars invested in healthcare companies is going to companies that are leveraging #ai". Administrative and clinical use cases are seeing 60% of the total AI investment in healthcare. Therefore, this report focuses on these emerging AI applications that are impacting patients from diagnosis to recovery. The current and future impact AI will have on the #patientjourney has the potential to not only lower costs but also improve patient outcomes. https://lnkd.in/gdu5_s-H
It is sad to see Jim is only addressed as a patient. Last time I talked to Jim, he was a dad, a son, a friend, a football fan, and so much more which defines not only him as a person, but also impacts how he perceives his health, and how he engages with the treatment, and the supports he gets at home, so he can focus on full recovery. There are so many more touch points where AI will play a role outside the 'medical journey', for example in education, support, motivation, etc.
Interesting
Nice graphic, I like the organization of the information.
Great insight Dr Maida
Thanks Dr. Maida Affan very interesting.
Fascinating insights!
Improved health outcomes through Narrative Medicine
3moIt skips the most important part of care: the voice of the patient, especially in the patient experience part of the journey, where it is of the utmost importance to listen to the lived experience of the patient. But also at triage and encounter step and even more so when returning home to recover. So many AI is focused on medical/clinical data. I absolutely believe that clinical data can be improved by AI, but the real advancements of humanized AI assisted care will only happen if AI includes the patient’s voice.
