WHO ARE YOU? I know that the furore surrounding the recent evolution of the Golden Syrup brand is now, probably, coming to an end. All parties have had their chance to expound their views and, like all other news stories, has had its day and will fade away. But there still remains one important and valuable voice and opinion that has yet to be heard. We still don't know which design company is responsible for this. To my knowledge they have not stepped up and defended their work or put forward any explanation of their rational and approach to producing this result. Neither has Tate&Lyle revealed their design agency's name or given them any sort of recognition or praise. I've been tipped off as to who it was but it's not my place to reveal this knowledge publicly. What was their relationship to their Tate&Lyle clients? Did they play a part in the brand strategy that resulted in the brief? Were they just implementers of a poor decision without the ability to influence the outcome? What was the purpose and goals of this re-hash (in their opinion)? It's significant that they remain unidentified. IMO it's important that the design community understands why, whether because of contractural agreements with their clients, feeling unable to effectively comment on the backlash, or just embarrassed? If they were truly proud of it why not reveal themselves and champion their own work and actions?

Day 3 of my Women's History Month responsive web design challenge. I featured Marjory Stoneman Douglas for today's "Shero"....And boy is she worthy. I completely redesigned the page setup. I added a side navigation that when clicked will take you to that section on the page... unless you are already seeing that section. I also added an image gallery that is responsive as well as some quotes. I am proud of the progress I am making although I realize the design isn't perfect.
